Great warning of potential water damage.
Saved me from major issues, placed one next to AC, which went off and alert me to water flowing into containment tray. Saved me from a lot of damage. Highly recommend.

These are my favorite water alarms.
I have several different brands at all potential leak locations in the house. Under each sink, behind each toilet, near washing machine, dishwasher, and refrigerator ice maker. What makes these great is the fact that they are easy to open to replace the 9v battery. They simply unscrew the top and bottom. They are loud and the batteries last over 2 years, but I change them out yearly. I have replaced all my other brands with these. A small cost to prevent major water damage issues, especially on wood frame homes or homes with wood floors or carpet. Water leak detectors have saved me on at least 3 occasions from under sink leaks that my wife and I caught early. Don't be cheap and wait till you have damage. These could save you thousands of dollars in repairs and headaches.

Solid, cheap, practical drip detector for under six dollars. But screwing them on is a bit much.
It works. This unit went off at 2am and saved us a chunk o money in flood avoided. Solid, cheap, practical drip detector for under six dollars. But screwing them on is a bit much. Old school analog. Obviously, if you are (a) not at home and (b) cannot hear them --- they are useless. So (a) Get the smart units that send a message to your phone if you are away from home a lot. Next -- and this is important--- it is true as a couple reviewers have noted, the loudness of the alarm is (weirdly) impacted by how you screw the lid on. See pics. Basically, there is a vented 'hole' in the top of the unit. You want that hole clear (you should see a gold tone plate at the bottom) for the sound to emerge vehemently. Otherwise, the alarm is absolutely muffled and remarkably less loud. The problem is there are no markers to help you adjust your 'screw' to make sure the hole lines up with an open space underneath. If you only turn far enough to land the vented hole over something solid (like the battery) you lose, I'd say, about 30db in loudness. It's pretty annoying actually. So we gave up after screwing/re-screwing the first lid on about twenty times trying to get it just right. Eventually, we settled for most units just-sort-kinda right. See pic (pinkie is pointing towards the "open" correct orientation; the other is blocked and alarm is softer sounding). Picture of the single unit shows the gold tone plate underneath that you DO want to be able to see. Problem is... we only got one perfectly aligned like this. :-( Annoying.

Small expense, huge savings
These are great. They work as advertised. I put one on the floor in my water utility closet with water heater, reverse osmosis filters, water softener and whole house water filter. Five days later I heard the alarm, It's loud. I checked the closet and sure enough the drain line for the softener system had split. I was very glad that I was able to catch it early and repair the line. Well worth the expense. Recommended.

It Works!
This product has saved us from water damage 2 times. It is very "touchy" The alarm is loud and can be switched off easily. Extremely reliable. Everyone should have them in their home.

The very minimum in features
Batteries not included no instructions no way to test the device and probably no warning for low battery

Saved my floor
I bought these just after a total remodel of my kitchen in late 2020. I put one under my sink, one under my dishwasher, and one near the water intake for my refrigerator. I set each one on a folded paper towel. About a month ago the one behind my refrigerator went off. I had actually forgotten about them so I thought at first the sound was coming from my fridge. Turns out the intake hose had started leaking and I was able to find it and fix it immediately. This saved me from damage to my hardwood floor. Many times worth the money I spent! I don't understand how some say they can't hear the alarm. I suppose if someone is hard of hearing it might seem quiet to them, but my entire household heard ours go off. Also, I doubt these alarms are designed to be dunked under water. They are designed to detect leaks. Having a paper towel under mine made it go off exactly when it should - when the towel got wet enough to trigger it.

Every home needs them.
Very loud, tested on the counter. Now they are under the sink. Great for your home or rentals or anywhere that a leak gets expensive.
