No lead sleeve on the tip
This size of lead has much less risk of breaking and I found the lead sleeve on other brands I have, too long. I sisnt feel I could write properly or easily with the lead sleeves on the tips of the other pencils. This is the ONLY pencil I found that does not have the sleeve. I was SO happy to find these! I took off a star for 2 reasons that I can work around. The first reason is more minor, but should be noted, the cap that slides over the inner tube and sits at the top of the pencil, does not fit super well. It is a little loose which just means there is a noise when you write. Some days this is OK, some days I remove it while I am writing, so I and avoid hearing it. The second issue is the grip. The metal cross hatched grip is too slick, as the cuts were not made well enough to produce the grip needed. I resolved this by adding a grip that I had from an old gel pen that happened to fit perfect. This makes it one of my very favorite pencils now. I would buy again in a heartbeat. The pencil is solid metal, nice weight. I added the star back as my issues are able to be resolved myself and I want others to be able to have access to this hard to find item. I have not tried the lead yet, as I have another lead I want to use first. This pencil is working great with the Tikpen HB lead I have. A harder lead also needed a heavier pencil body. This is perfect.

Quality pencils
These are quality pencils and a great value for the price. They are easy to use and function as they should and are comfortable to grip while writing for extended periods of time. The 1.3mm leads last much longer than the 0.7 and 0.5 leads that break and wear too quickly. I'm very happy with this purchase and recommend them to anyone looking for a good deal on a quality set of pencils.

definitely not the top quality pencils, but the 1.3mm lead isint a common size. absolutely punching well above their price point. they are not completely out of their league in a drawer with pentel, uno, stadler, and rotring. especially since this lead size is not that common in those brands. and at a fraction of the price.
