Love this machine!
I absolutely love this device. I'm using it solely to watch movies that are stored on my QNAP 8-bay server. The unit plays everything smoothly so far, even Gemini Man in Dolby Vision at 60fps, no problem. I don't compress my movies and rip them straight from the 4K disc before i transfer them to my server, and these movies are playing flawlessly at 90 +/- Mbps.I strongly advise that you do not try to play ISO files, which seem to be sluggish and stutter terribly. If you use DVDFab, you can select Copy Movie and then select Main Movie to retain dynamic HDR formats, such as HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. As far as audio, this device recognizes and plays DTS-X and Dolby Atmos without an issue. Be sure not to set an EDID, as it may disable DTS-X from your unit.My only gripe is that the unit has no logo for LPCM, but has logos for Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, etc. I have a good number of movies on blu-ray where the best audio track (uncompressed) is in LPCM, so I'm not sure why there is no logo for this. If you're like me, you may want to tag your movie file names to have more accurate information about the specs on screen.Lastly, out of the 215 or so movies I have on my server so far, this unit only had trouble recognizing one. That was Seven Commandments of Kung Fu. It's not an entirely popular movie, but I was still able to add my own custom movie cover and background. It actually did have the plot to the movie and the actors listed for it, too. If it matches to the wrong movie, you can easily correct it 99% of the time with no trouble.

Unbelieveable - does exactly what it says it does and beautifully! Thank you Zidoo!
I have owned many media players both high and low end including the Nvidia units. I will also say that I have been dealing with this technology for decades and am a graduate electrical engineer with advanced degrees in Computer Science. I say this to calibrate you for some validity when I say this unit is the finest I have ever seen or used. This thing actually did what they said it does, does it correctly and easily, and very easy to use! It just worked!! The latter should be normal but it is not! I can't say enough good things about this unit. In addition, it has a number of advanced functions, like an RS-232 interface. The user interface is a pleasure and it plays everything I could throw at from my network file servers. Plus no Android/KODI baloney to learn when all you want to do is watch a movie or listen to some music and not make a federal case out of it. I was playing Blurays, DVD, Mp4s, etc. within five minutes! Sorry if I am over enthusiastic which is very rare for me. If you want to watch movies or listen to music from you network, just buy this and problem solved. (maybe I will find something wrong with it later!)

Does not work!
Where do I start? It's total garbage, starting with the remote. It's a dark charcoal gray, and the symbols on the buttons are like maybe 1/100th of a shade lighter, you can't make them out even if you shine a flashlight on it.I have a 4K tv, but it would only play movies in 1080p, it takes forever to scan all your movies, while Plex and Jellyfin take like a minute, tops. Videos constantly stutter and drop audio, you have to pause and re-start to stop it, but it only fixed it for less than a minute before it would start again.I reset to factory specs and had to go through the whole scanning thing all over again, but it still did everything I mentioned above, only the stuttering got worse. Oh, and way too many movies were assigned the wrong posters and synopses. For example there was one called "The Gardens of Paradise" with a weird graphic, I had no idea what it was, and I had to play the beginning of the movie (which took forever because of the stuttering and freezing) to discover it was the movie "Lucy", then you have to jump through hoops to find and load the correct poster and movie description. Unbelievable. The shame is, for the brief moment that it worked as it should, the picture and audio quality were subperb.I complained to Amazon and they immediately sent me a new one, but I'm not even going to open the box. I want my $266 back.
