Good book

I do like that it has lots of questions with their final numerical answer provided but there is no where near enough detail on the associated theory so I referred to different books to learn the material and used the questions in this book for extra practice.

Shipped on-time, safely packed. Love the book, it was recommended by my advisor at MIT. The language is simple and provides important specifics of aircraft design.

Vor 15 Jahren kaufte ich die erste Auflage dieses Buches und habe es damals durchgelesen. Darin wurde die Auslegung der Triebwerke fuer ein viermotoriges Gross-Flugzeug (etwa wie Airbus A380) und der Triebwerke eines modernen Jagdflugzeuges (etwa wie des Eurofighters) eingehend dargestellt. In der kuerzlich gekauften 3. Auflage erfolgt eine Erlaeuterung der Auslegung der Triebwerke eines zweimotorigen Langstrecken- Flugzeuges (wie etwa Airbus A350-900) und der Triebwerke eines Jagdflugzeuges ( wie in der ersten Auflage), wobei dieser zweite Teil fuer das Jagdflugzeug praktisch identisch mit dem der ersten Auflage ist. Das ist sehr schade, denn auch die Entwicklung der Triebwerke fuer Jagdflugzeuge ist in den letzten 20 Jahren doch merklich fortgeschritten (zB fuer die US-amerikanischen Joint Strike Fighter F-35 mit all seinen Ausfuehrungen) und haette es verdient, beschrieben zu werden.

The Kindle format is horrible. The equations and text are so disproportionate that it distracts the reader from the content. Speaking of content it is just a rehash of the second edition with barely any new content or at least modernized plots. The explanations on their own are not as thorough and as intuitive as one would like. This book, for me, will be good as just an extra reference to a more complete and intuitive book.
