High-Performance Controller Board with a Learning Curve
I recently upgraded my CR-10 S5 with the BIGTREETECH Manta M5P+CB1 V2.2 Core board, aiming to switch to a 32-bit processor running Klipper. As someone with experience in assembling and upgrading 3D printers, I found this background crucial, especially given the lack of printed documentation with the board. While there is a manual available on their GitHub, this isn't mentioned in the package, which can be a hurdle for those not in the know. The manual itself, once found, has its gaps. I had to draw on my past experience and various online resources to correctly configure the board. For instance, I initially mis-wired the endstop connectors and had to redo them. Also, determining which fan connector was for the hotend versus the part-cooling fan required extra research. Moreover, there was no guidance provided for connecting the BigTreeTech TFT35 screen, even though it's marketed as compatible with this board. Despite these documentation challenges, I managed to set up the board relatively quickly. Performance-wise, it's excellent. The board runs Klipper smoothly and handles the printer, screen, web interface, and downloads all at once with no issues. As someone more accustomed to Marlin firmware, Klipper's power and convenience have been impressive. The integrated Klipper processor on the board is a significant plus, making it easier to manage than a separate Raspberry Pi - a bonus considering the current availability issues with the Pi. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the Manta board and CB1 core's performance. It's a solid choice for those looking to upgrade, provided you're prepared for some DIY troubleshooting and setup.

Completely revived my old delta, it had a weird tilt to one area in-between two towers that made it impossible to print large objects and meant it didn't get used much. Enter the Manta! After quite a few nights of setup and head scratching it's all installed and calibrated correctly! Now it prints super fast and accurate! To the point that this is my main printer again!
