Elixir 11150 Elixir Poly Acous 12-Stg Lite

These strings are the best. I've been using them for years and they last forever and sound great. If you haven't given them a try yet, do yourself a favor and order some.

First, let me say these strings really do live up to all the hype and their extra expense. The Elixir Acoustic 12 String 80/20 Bronze Guitar Strings in Light Gauge with the Polyweb Coating have a beautiful, bright, clear tone. Both the bass and treble strings have good response and are well balanced for each other. While there may be other coated strings trying to get your dollar but Elixir pioneered the coated string movement and their's are the best other there. Not only do they sound great, but they last about 3 times longer than other strings we have used. This an especially wonderful treat on a 12 string string when changing strings takes twice as long. The guitar they are used on in an acoustic/electric 12 string guitar with active electronics.

I find with other stings the acid from my fingers would corrode the string and they would lose tone quickly. Elixir strings with the teflon coating last for a long time and hold their tone much longer than other strings I've used. If you play a 12 string like I do, you know you don't want to change strings any soon than you need to.

First try on a 12 string. Sound is clear, but playing 12 string is not that wonderful. I’m a six string electric soloist. I use EB Cobalt 9’s. The elixir 10’s for an acoustic 12 string are not easy to play. I’m going to switch to 9’s on it. But the strings are cool.

Eixir strings are some of the best you can get, albeit there is a range of quality within the brand. I have used Elixir strings before but I just purchased a twelve-string guitar and I needed new strings. So far I am pleased with these. Again, you can get a range of quality within this, or any other, brand and these are at the lower end.

I bought this brand once for my 6 string acoustic and loved them. My son said these were the ones to get. Would I buy them again? The answer is yes because I did. This time it was for my 12 sting that I had bought myself for Christmas and I decided to get better strings on it than what the store put on them and knew these strings would make it better. I am very happy with these strings. You can choose the type of coating you want to get the sound you want.

I admit it - I'm the lazy guy. I don't wipe down my guitars. I play every day and have played for ~40 years but life doesn't allow anything but playing for my own enjoyment. After trying tons of different strings, these are my go-to. They stay in tune (including on my 12 string that goes out of tune as soon as you look at it), they don't corrode, and you can bend them like crazy with great stability. They hit all the fundamentals.

As you'd expect they sound great! Very comfortable on your fingers
