Work as expected

Work as expected. Initially tested in a Freenove Remote controller to control a Freenove Quadruped. Then followed the pinout in the AZ Delivery e-book and copied the transmit and receive sketches. Note the need to change the Pins for CE and CSN shown in the sketches to match those shown in the pinout. Then works as expected.

5 units for the price of 2 units

I like the AZ brand- alwyas in stock. Also a useful little ebook on how to setup a test environment.

COMPLETE JUNK - very poor performance & most failed within a few weeks

Final_Edit: These are junk. After 3 weeks, 3 of the 5 units have failed completely & the last 2 still can't reach further than the other side of my desk. I really regret buying these, but I can't return them because I had to solder on the capacitors to get anything out of them at all. Get the ones with a stubbly little aerial instead, preferably with the extra little adapter board.Original Review: Having read the reviews, I was a bit worried about the packaging on this product. However, my five NRF24L01 modules were all in anti-static bags. Yes, they were packed into a box, but they were completely undamaged. I'll update the review when I get them all plugged in, but I thought that someone ought to tell everyone that they are packing them properly now.EDIT_1: IMPORTANT... You really really need you buy a some 10uf capacitors (I picked up 25 for £1.50 online) whilst you are buying these NRF24L01 modules. Capacitor Positive connects to NRF24L01 Ground and the capacitor negative connects to the NRF24L01 VCC. With added capacitors, I get 100% successful transmission & response, without them I get worse than 95% failures. Search around online & you can see how to connect it all up properly. There's an instructables by Vexelius called "NRF24L01: Fixing Connection Issues" which has photos & instructions. I'm testing them with micropython on a Raspberry Pi Pico, & so far so good (once my capacitors arrived). I'll update when I've tested more.EDIT_2: Settings - I can only get these to communicate with the Power set to Max (counter-intuitively, that's POWER_0 rather than POWER_3) and a Speed of 2M (POWER_0, SPEED_2M) in MicroPython. Once I added the capacitors, all 5 modules communicate using the test programs that come with the driver.EDIT_3: Distance - or lack of it. I can get around 2 or 3m between modules, but they can't work through walls or any kind of obstacle. In Conclusion: they function, just. Possibly useful for code testing, but I wouldn't want to use them in the real world. They don't work straight "out of the box", & I needed to faff around quite a lot (& buy additional capacitors) to even get the most basic connectivity. On balance, buy a couple of named brand ones, so you can focus on the code rather than blindly troubleshooting hardware issues from cheap transceivers. I can't really recommend buying these.Addition: Don't waste your time or money on these, they really aren't fit for purpose.

Careless packaging and some dry joints!

The media could not be loaded. This product arrived promptly and is as described in the listing. However the careless packaging and poor soldering of some through-hole components leaves no wonder as to why some of these circuits are dead on arrival! As can be seen in my video the circuits are just tossed into the box with no attempt made to protect the pins (some of which are bent) and especially concerning is no protection from ESD.ESD failure is very likely to happen during transit and it shouldn't be too costly to package these circuits in an ESD safe bag like all good electronics manufacturers do.What drove me to write this review are the dry joints on the crystal oscillator. These dry joints where observed on every board received (see photos). I wouldn't be surprised if these circuits didn't work properly purely because of this alone! The rest of the board is soldered to a good standard (even the through-hole header pins) so there's no excuse for this poor workmanship.I will definitely be reflowing these joints before use but your customers shouldn't have to do this!In summary:+ Product is as described+ Most of the board has been soldered well+ Cheap- No ESD protection (circuits likely DoA)- No physical protection for header pins- poor soldering on crystal oscillatorIf all of these minus points are addressed then this would be a great source of these boards!

The modules are very unreliable

I was unable to get these modules to work.I set up a basic test program to test connection. A module from another seller works correctly none of the modules from this seller appear to update correctly when attempting to set a new address. Or configuration.very frustrating.
