🔥UPDATED GEN 2 MODEL /OPEN AND CLOSE BLADE WITH BUTTON /GREAT BUDGET KNIFE IN 14C28N STEEL🔥
The rhino is my first REMETTE knife. I bought it because I saw a positive review of the peacock they make on YouTube. First thing is you receive a nice branded pouch, cleaning cloth and even a wrench with t6 on one end and t8 on the other. That's a nice touch especially if your someone who doesn't have a torx head bit screwdriver. The Micarta feels great and all the edges of the scales are chamfered and smooth. The chamfering gives the scales and liners a slight shadow boxed look and feel. The knife feels good in the hand, no hot spots. The clip is right hand carry only. Sorry lefties, maybe REMETTE can fix this. Clip is inset in the scales and held by flush t6 screws. Nice. There are only three t6 "scale" screws total on the clip side, 2 on the show side and two t8 pivot screws. I would like to see all t8 body screws and only one t8 pivot screw to have to adjust. The blade opens easy with the front thumb flipper, thumb studs and can be finger/ spydie flicked open with the cut outs on both sides of the blade plus the new gen 2 model allows opening and closing with the button now. The button does not work as the detent so no button stick. The gen 2 uses a regular liner lock bar for locking the blade and as the detent. The blade by the way came paper cutting sharp and the grinds are even. It's thin behind the edge and is a flat grind. The sharpening choil is better on the new gen 2 model. Blade is drop shutty and I'm sure is on bearings. There is a matching micarta back spacer at the bottom end of the liners with a pin and cut out for a lanyard. Jimping on the blade is good and ends at the center of the thumb studs. There is a curve in the top of the blade for your thumb for choking up to do push cuts. Overall I love this knife and recommend it. It's a value for what you pay for it and materials you get. You get great micarta scales, 14c28n steel (which is marked on the side of the front flipper), and a unique button locking system. REMETTE is knocking it out of the ballpark. 👍😊

Great one.
This was one of the smaller size knives that really jumped out to me. I tend to like my knives around 8” and 3.5” blade. This Remette really stood out for me. As soon as I got it i fell in love with it. When in my hand it doesn't feel that small. It really lives up to the name Rhino. Built like a tank, very robust. Feels real solid in hand. The Black Micarta is very nice and its already giving off that patina. The texture feels awesome. Great deployment methods, the studs are great, front flipper is awesome and even the fuller is useful. The bottom liner button lock is superb. The action is so snappy really flys out. Did a great job on 14c28n very sharp out of the box. Reverse pocket clip, nice stonewashed blade the black titanium coating is very nice. Very fidgety. Really love this knife.

Almost perfect.
Ok, I love this knife more and more. There are a couple of quirks that I don't like and since Remette actually asked me to review my purchase, im hoping they will consider the critiques. Firstly, the push button is loose and wobles on the stem. Im fairly certain that it is by design, but it doesn't feel good and I believe it makes actuation the lock more difficult (likely the reason behind designing it that way). Secondly, the pivot screws are impossible to loosen if I need to perform any maintenance on the knife. Perhaps a captive pivot would be better? Anyway, they are small issues that really boil down to quality of life and there are no safety concerns from me. Like I said, I love this knife. Instantly one of my favorites in my collection. If Remette can fix these two small issues, then I think its the perfect EDC knife, especially for the price. A couple other blade shapes on this platform would be really welcome as well, but that's not a complaint, just an "I want more like this." Comment.

Excellent Quality, Fidgetability, Aesthetics, & Customer Service!
SUMMARY / TLDR: You cannot go wrong with these knives. And with a company whose customer service responds and solves issues quickly, this knife from Remette is a no-brainer. Just buy it! Also, if there was a flipper tab it would be the perfect knife (preference), but it still gets 5 Stars from me! Because I absolutely LOVED the liner lock version of the Remette Rhino, I had to get my hands on this button-lock version. I originally ordered the one with green micarta scales, and it was (nearly) perfect. There was unfortunately a tiny bit of play in the rotation when in the closed position. I reached out to Remette right away, and they had a replacement at my door in less than 48 hrs, and the new one had no play in it whatsoever. These knives are very high quality, and I love all the little details they paid attention to on the design. PROS: - Weight: Very light for the size due to the micarta scales and machined cutouts in the metal frame. - Ergonomics: Because of the way the micarta scales are beveled, the shape of the handle, the placement and length of the jimping, and the shape of the top of the blade, this knife is VERY comfortable to use (see pictures). - The micarta scales are precisely machined in a way that maximizes comfort when gripping the knife (see pictures). - Fidget-ability: 1. The cutout that is on the flat of the blade near the thumb stud allows you to consistently and comfortably use the reverse flick deployment method. It is the most satisfying reverse-flick experience that I’ve ever encountered. 2. The button lock is solid and consistent and drops very satisfyingly into the detent when closing. 3. The thumb studs are the perfect height and don’t stick out past the width of the knife, which means they don’t get caught or rip your pants when you slide the knife in or out of your pocket...not to mention that the micarta scales are beveled perfectly to give you access to the thumb stud for easy and comfortable opening (see pictures). 4. The button lock both opens AND closes the knife. 5. The design of the blade where the jimping is allows for a reverse thumb deployment method. With four ways to open the knife, it makes this knife extremely fun and satisfying to fidget with. - Aesthetics: This knife receives a VERY high score in the aesthetics department. I think this knife has one of the most attractive designs of any EDC knife on the market right now. - Deep-Carry Pocket Clip allows the knife to sit all the way in your pocket and out of the way. CONS: Where is the flipper tab!?!?! When I reviewed the liner lock version of this knife, I said that if it had a button lock it would have been the PERFECT EDC knife. It’s the VERY SAME STORY with this knife, just in reverse. If this one had been designed with a flipper tab, THIS would be the perfect knife as well. Aesthetics: They need to sell one with green micarta scales and a black blade! Neither of these are really cons at all, but seriously Remmete, just please make these two changes and take my money! ONE FINAL NOTE: I read in some other reviews that there are actually two generations of this knife – The first generation does not allow you to open the knife with the button lock (only close it), and the second generation that allows both opening and closing with the button lock. The first time I ordered a black one, it was a first generation, and when I messaged the seller, they sent me a new one that same day.
