I've tried a multitude of cables ranging from very expensive audiophile grade to budget Hi-Fi and there's a few things I've learned over the years that keep me coming back to this one cable. I'm an audio enthusiast, but definitely not an "audiophile". The problem with audiophile views is that they tend to favor "accuracy" over every thing else. And the problem with this idea is that raw, accurate audio is very boring; lacking bass and restricting audio to standards that are realistic but unamusing. I'm all about high quality; in fact, I've spent thousands of dollars over the years attempting to have it; but I can't for the life of me agree to dull down my media to conform to such concepts. The whole point of media is to enjoy it. Dolby ATMOS theaters, for example, absolutely do NOT conform to the audiophile standard and it is the most popularly sought after format. So I want to state that this review is focused on the lifestyle of searching for phenomenal audio quality, without sacrificing the quality of your experience. I do not believe that cables should be in charge of balancing your media, nor do I think all media was intended to be perfectly balanced. Some audio cables are described as having a certain tone to them. But I want to be able to drive my speakers and headphones the way that I choose, which means finding an audio cable with the least influence and the lowest level of resistance. I've tried a number of expensive cables, and the only other cables that meet this requirement of mine end up costing hundreds of dollars. This cable, costing $30 at the time of initial purchase, has brought me the same experience for a fraction of the cost. In a never-ending search for the best cables I currently have added this cable to my favorites, despite its durability issue. The main thing I've learned over the years is that no matter how much you spend, or how delicate you are with a cable, they are simply break after some time. And for those that are strong, they use harder materials that add durability but also add resistance that create a flat sound. The harsh reality is that even if a company wanted to make a strong cable, they couldn't do it while maintaining low resistance. It's taken 15 years of constant replacement and searching to come to the conclusion that I'm better off just finding an inexpensive alternative, even if I have to replace it more frequently.... Because in the end, I'm saving money and stress. This cable lasted about 6 months before I experienced the same fate as other reviewers, resulting in frayed ends and internal wire breaks... But for the $30 I paid (and the $17 they're asking for now), this remains a cable I'd happily replace twice a year instead of spending 150-300 every 2-3 years. It has the capability to make high end headphones shine and I'm not afraid to break it. I watch movies, play games, listen to music, and stream media in high quality formats whenever possible and have spent extensive time and money perfecting my setup around all of these media formats. I have a high quality DAC/AMP in my computer, phenomenal all-around headphones, clean conditioned power going to my computer, and a phone with a great DAC/AMP. Of all the components, the one thing I seem to struggle with is the cables between these devices. Everything else is fairly permanent and perfected to a "T'. And this is where this cable comes in... When listening to a quality song (of any genre, ranging from Jazz to EDM and Rock) this cable has the capacity to make said song absolutely shine by supplying my headphones with unrestricted audio quality. For me and my setup, this means strong punchy mids, clear highs, and wide & deep lows. The level of audio presence and width in this cable is amazing and is a cable that I recommend any person on any budget invests in. Now before I wrap this up, I need to clarify one thing. Where this cable sits in any setup... The ability to play all of these sounds at once without one frequency dampening another is something that comes from having good components from end to end. So this cable will not "magically" enhance your setup. But rest assured, this cable will NOT be the weak link. So if you want to make sure you buy the best cable you can, I am confident that this cable is it. Regardless of audio taste, this cable can deliver whatever sound you send through it, and that's very rare. However, it absolutely WILL break on you without much warning. So my recommendation is to buy two, and when (not if) one cable goes bad you can order another and start using your backup. Now, if you don't have the money to replace a cable frequently, then you simply can't expect to afford high fidelity. This is just a harsh reality that is unfortunately true for most. If you need a brand that will be cheap and last a very long time, I recommend you buy from Hosa. They're known as a no-gimmicks pro-grade musicians brand. Their cables are not attractive, but they get the job done and can take a beating. They aren't what a musician would record with, but it is something they'd use for everything else. If you DO choose to subscribe to the idea of high quality audio then I continue to recommend this cable with the following warnings. This audio cable is very pretty and feels premium, but is heavy. So heavy, that some headphones may not be able to hold it in their jacks without falling out. I would see how easily a cable pulls out from your headphones before buying (assuming it's for headphones). This cable doesn't have much freedom of motion and is indented for a setup, not an OTG wire. You can't expect to use this while going for a walk without issues, and you can't expect to store it easily. This is the kind of cable that remains at a desk or in a car and doesn't move much because it's motion is very restricted and it's ends are heavy. If those are not issues for you, then this will become your new favorite cable so long as it continues to be developed in such a manner. Hopefully, the makers of this cable don't give in to the negative reviews and favor durability over quality, as it will be the day I search elsewhere. Until then, I will continue to use this cable, and their other cables, in my setup. Thanks for making such a great cable! (= PS: I've included photos of the fray, as well as a video demonstrating the build quality of the ends of the cable. I think they did a pretty good job making this cable. I'm not even sure why it has any issues with durability to begin with. Seems like they did all they could to make this as strong as possible.

I was a bit confused after using this as to why people said this broke easily. The cable is pretty thick and it’s braided. I don’t think it will break or rip anytime soon. The audio quality that comes out of using this is noticeably cleaner. I think this is one of the best 3.5mm audio cables I have you used. It’s a bit overkill for a AUX phone wire but the audio quality is amazing. 100% would buy this within a heartbeat.

I use the product to connect my laptop to a sound mixer so that remote participants in Zoom services in my church can be heard through loudspeakers. Has worked without any problems.

Fabric covering started pulling away from the straight connector and fraying after 4 months.
