Well written, includes summaries of each topic.
This is one of the the text books that they used a school for their GCSE syllabus. I bought one for home so that notes could be made, important dates highlighted etc. The book is written well and also summaries each topic/event, which is useful when revising.

Nothing fancy when it comes to the activities but a useful resource to draw from rather than a teaching tool ...
A clear, well written book. Nothing fancy when it comes to the activities but a useful resource to draw from rather than a teaching tool brimming with activities. I doubt any of my classes could want to work through the book unaided. However, the author provides very readable and detailed text that can be used in a variety of ways if you have sufficient time to properly incorporate it into well planned lessons. The summary sections and quiz questions at the end of each section are a bonus. I found the sections on how to answer questions well written and clear. The layout and colours of the series lend clarity rather than excitement. Sadly, printing quality is a bit of a let down in places. Overall a good book!
