The media could not be loaded.  I’ve been using Denman brushes all my life and I’m nearly 60! My late Mother had a small Denman brush in every handbag, I still have them in mine and they’re still in excellent condition. Needless to say this Denman Power Paddle Brush is fabulous, honestly I’ve been using a Kent paddle brush more recently and comparing them I have to genuinely say the Denman is better. It’s pins are longer and better placed to go through my long thick hair without tangling it. Just brushing through with it is a pleasure, my hair is prone to frizziness, especially since I grew out the old colour and its waist length natural grey. This brush instantly tamed and smoothed my hair, I am so impressed by it. Please see my photos and video, I absolutely recommend this super quality Denman paddle brush for long thick hair, you can feel it go right through to the scalp and down, brush all the hair not just the top layer. This is quite a high value hairbrush and I think I was expecting more for my money.Firstly, the packaging. This was brilliant! The brush arrived in a compostable plastic bag. If only more manufacturers would follow suit. (I think the packaging actually helped redeem my opinion of the product.)The brush itself is surprisingly light; so much so, I find it quite unnerving. My old brush (over a decade old) is heavy and clunky. It’s been like going from an old 1 litre car to a turbo engine… the difference is actually quite discombobulating. As a result of its lightness, it looks and feels very plasticky and I find this off-putting.I like the size of the brush head. The handle is comfortable to hold and big enough. The brush head feels quite rough against my scalp, but I think this is because I have got used to such an old, worn brush in comparison. I am confident I will get used to it and it will wear down over time.For performance, I am really pleased with it. I do not feel like the brush is ripping hair off my scalp when it detangles. Instead, it seems to glide through my hair and I have been impressed by how slowly the hair has built up on the brush. This makes a positive change!This does feel like a good hairbrush and one I will adjust to. Personally, I would prefer something that is a bit meatier: heavier, less plasticky and one that I have confidence is not going to crack easily.

Both my wife and I use paddle brushes but these days I don't have as much hair as I used to! This Denman Power Paddle for Fast and Comfortable Detangling seems like a very average brush at a premium price which arrived in a plastic bag to reduce waste. My wife tried it and loved it. Certainly, the Denham name seemed to carry some weight with her.It is a one piece moulded plastic handle with an air cushioned base for the plastic bristles. The bristles don't have the usual pin head design so the points do tend to scratch your scalp. It does feel very light in your hand and it does the job. But for me, paddle brushes all seem much the same and I don't see what makes this double or treble the price of others on the market.
