Love this book!
Reading this book to jump start my career in Linux System Administration. The author goes through a lot of important topics, from disks, security and networking, and monitoring the health of your systems. I am reading this before I take the LPIC-1 exam.

Short on format/syntax descriptions, some common things not covered
This book covers aspects of install and mainenance that are very helpful, but it lacks a few things that I expected. Of course, I can look things up, but I like to have a book that I can make notes in and bookmark for handy reference. As an example, there was no mention of handling removable media (using, ejecting, etc.), and there are a number of places where examples of adding entries to config files are given (fstab, sshd_config, etc.) but often they rarely describe what all of the fields that you are being told to add to the file do (you are left to look the file format information up elsewhere). I think, at a minimum, the text should mention what `man` entry to look at.There are also places where it will say, "if you use 'xyz' do 'this', but if you use 'abc' do 'that'", but it doesn't say why you would use 'xyz' or 'abc', and it (typically) doesn't say how to tell if you are using 'xyz' or 'abc'. So, given that the first chapter is titled 'Getting Started with Linux', one would think that there is more information about the 'why', but after this first section, there seems to be a lot of assumption about the reader having more indepth knowledge of the system.Given the information that I found lacking (or didn't find at all), I was surprised to find a large section on leaving your current job (writing a resignation letter, going through an exit interview, etc.).
