German Made Simple: Learn to Speak and Understand German Quickly and Easily

Learning German isn't easy. I adore the Michel Thomas audio courses, but they almost shy away from explaining the use of Accusative, Dative or Nominative... and you do need this for correct German. This book tackles it head-on, from about Chapter 5 onwards, and does it brilliantly. It is clearly written, with plenty of vocabulary, dialogs and explanations. It's well worth the money (but wish it was available on Kindle). In a nutshell, if you're getting started on German, you NEED : 1. The Michel Thomas audio courses. 2. German Demystified: A Self Teaching Guide 3. This book. Together, these three will give you a better head start than most language centres.

This was a replacement for the one I already had, that had become damaged and had lost some pages. I was learning German at the time and the only way I could continue, was to buy another copy, which I couldn't get in NZ.

Really good , helps with phrases to speak well in German

I accidentally bought two copies of German Made Simple as I thought one order had not gone through. It is a paperback and American version of the one I have already reviewed. Otherwise the same comments apply.

Strange approach to teaching, so far I can't really say if I like it. I've the feeling the book has not reviewed that much and some parts could have been organized better. To be honest I'm an Italian native speaker so maybe for English native speakers is better. Still interesting, can't say is bad.
