Reluctant Buyer – But It Really Works
I’m not usually a fan of using weedkillers, but I found it necessary after some stubborn, deep-rooted weeds started damaging my paved areas. I’ve tried a few cheaper alternatives in the past, but none had lasting results. In contrast, Roundup Optima+ is the only one that’s truly done the job. Its more expensive than other brands, and I did hesitate at first but in the long run, for quality it was worth every penny. It’s definitely slow-acting and I had to wait up to two weeks to see full results, which can be frustrating at first. But once it takes effect, the weeds completely died off, and importantly, they haven’t grown back in the same spot. It’s colourless so doesn’t make a mess. I would highly recommend to get rid of stubborn weeds

Not sure what has happened, but not as good as it used to be!
Roundup has always been my go to weedkiller around the garden. I use in a pump sprayer to get rid of the weeds, brambles and most annoyingly, ivy from our next door neighbour. It worked and was also safe for our cat (very important). During COVID it seemed to disappear, but then saw it back available on Amazon. Not sure what has happened to the formulation, but this stuff is expensive rubbish- dont mind paying for a product that works, but I suspect that they have had to dumb down the contents to placate the eco-mentalists as this stuff does seem to work as well any more. Previously a single application was enough to kill weeds in a couple of days.. This new stuff took 3 applications. I can't recommend this currently- have spoken to the manufacturers and still awaiting a reply. Overpriced and doesn't do what is promises.

Does the job.. eventually !
Firstly it is very important to realise that this weed killer will taken a lot longer in the autumn/winter than it does in the spring/summer... why ? because it needs sunshine to work effectively, and in the the sun weeds will actively take in the product, whereas the lack of sun will make it work a LOT slower. I would definitely not advise making a stronger solution in the hope it will work quicker, all it will do is make it remain longer in the soil, not to mention it will shorten the amount of ground it will cover as well, making it even more expensive, as it if isn't expensive enough, plus it is harmful to both the user and the environment to us a bigger does than quoted - so please just don't do it ! Some weeds will take longer than others as well, most of mine took about 7 days to start to die (the 2-4 days quoted is very optimistic in my opinion, even in sunshine), whilst one weed, the most proliferent in my case too too, is just starting to die after 14 days, it is a waiting game really these days. Conclusion : It does work, but I will be looking into other well known makes next time, by working out how much you dilute solution you can make from 1 litre (involves maths I'm afraid) and I have already found one better/cheaper than this !
