Wella - Illuminate hair color

I have Afro-textured hair and am in my 50s. I usually try to avoid colouring it, but now and then I like to experiment. I’ve never quite managed to find the perfect match for my natural shade and, it’s often either too light or too dark a brown. Although this particular colour is slightly darker than my natural tone, it’s given me the most flattering and luminous result so far. I used shades no.4 and no.5 with the Wella 20% developer, which worked beautifully. I also layer on lots of conditioner 5 minutes before rinsing and go again with more conditioner for one more rinse.

Product is good. Arrived earlier then expected. I definitely going to buy again.

Amazing colour. I have thick long hair and did a 1:2 mix of 2 × 10/69 and a 1/3 of a tube of 10/93 with the wella pastel 1.9% developer after a wella bleach lift on damp hair. Left it for 10/15mins but could have kept it on for longer I reckon.

I used this once before, when my hair had been bleached twice with a high street bleach (once then 48hrs wait then again on virgin hair). It came out a beautiful ashy blonde. This time I had my roots with a professional bleach and developer so it lifted much better than the product I’d used before applying the silver mauve last time. I left it on for 30mins and with my bright white roots and still quite yellow/orange ends it came out amazing. It came out very mauve on the freshly bleached, bright white roots and sort of highlighted throughout where hair is lightest. The rest is a lovely gray silver. Its super shiny and true to its name opalescent. The first time I used it, it lasted about 3 weeks looking great, another 1 bearable and then the last week before doing my roots was yellow but nothing like before. I really recommend it. I was using used welloxon 6% in equal parts to silver mauve as it was still quite yellowy on the ends the first few touch ups every 5 weeks, but it also works with the pastel developer 1.9% for more deposit of colour if you actually want it purple. If you just have brassy hair and its not super light yellow then it shouldnt be too mauve at all just enough to remove the brassiness for an ashy blonde. If you want it mauve it needs to be very light. Ive never used a toner this good before!! Gone are the days of bleaching my own hair and wondering why its so yellow and instantly regretting it.

Love the result of Illumina colour. It's permanent but does fade after a few washes. The majority of colour is there, but it does fade. I'd still buy it again.

My hair has been dark for a while. I missed being blonde so cap highlighted my hair. Unfortunately some of the older brown was very stubborn. Those parts were a horrible shade of orange and I dare not put any more bleach on it, it’s already taken a battering. I needed violet to naturalise the orange so purchased this knowing it wouldn’t entirely match the swatch colour but should hopefully at least take the orange away. I used the 10/69 with a 1:1 ratio on dry hair with a 30 vol wella developer (I know that seems a high volume but I can’t stress enough just how orange it was) I let it develop for 25 mins and rinsed, shampoo, condition and hair mask. The colour is beautiful 😻 I’m so happy with it. The condition of my hair is absolutely awful (which is entirely on me- I went in a bit hardcore with the bleach) so if anyone can suggest something amazing for the bleach damage it would be appreciated.

Blandar denna med 10/69 och 9/60 för att få den PERFEKTA neutrala blonda nyansen. Vill man ha ännu kallare ton på håret kan man bara ta mer av denna. Receptet är: 30 gram 10/69 20 gram 10/1 10 gram 9/60 med developer 1,9 %

Il colore risulta luminoso e ricco di sfumature, non sembra di aver tinto i capelli. Se non hai bianchi refrattari è il massimo.
