I made a good choice in choosing Cuisinart
This appliance is a beauty! My previous Cuisinart was still working but after over 5 years of daily use I wanted a change. There are so many neat features on this model including more pod size choices: 4, 6, 8, 10, 12oz. The reservoir is clear, removable & easy to fill. It's nice to have the choice of making a carafe or just a cup of coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Set up was easy. There was one little glitch that the light on the single serve side would not illuminate, therefore turn on, after I performed the initial cleaning. I sent my concern via email to customer service and a reply came back in a flash with a remedy for that. It works perfectly now!

Only if you like grounds in your coffee
WASTE OF MONEY! Don't bother with this machine, you'll only end up tossing it out the window in a month. Regular pot side works fine, but the coffee pod side is terrible. First the little button inside (that tells the machine it's closed) wasn't being pressed down enough so it always signaled the latch was open. Wouldn't brew unless you keep a hand on top, applying slight pressure. I glued in a rubber foot, which solved that problem without affecting any other functionality of the machine.Second major issue is the coffee pods exploding. Randomly, yet frequently, those little plastic cups just bust right open sending coffee grounds into every nook and cranny of the internal space in the machine. There's basically no way to clean all of it out, so any future cup of coffee that is successful will still have grounds in it. Reached out to customer service ...they say it's the needle that needs cleaning. Cleaned (unclogged) the needle. Cleaned it again, to be sure. Next pod used was fine. Pod after that exploded. Cleaned the whole machine again. Needle wasn't clogged at all, but I cleaned it twice anyway just to be sure. Next pod exploded. I give up. Won't even try to sell/give this away to my enemies!

Makes great coffee
Fantastic machine that works great. The pod side didn’t work at first, but I pressed the reset button as per the instruction book and haven’t had any problems since. I’m very happy.

Gonna try again
Going to try this again. The first one the pod button didn't work. Tried the black button inside and still no luck. So hopefully I'll have better luck next time. The coffee maker itself is beautiful and I really like that part of it reason for trying again. Update the second one works great. Makes delicious coffee. The K-Cup side works great also and leaves no ground in cup.

Can be difficult to program
The Cuisinart Extreme Brew Coffee Maker is versatile, allowing me to brew a full pot or just a single cup, depending on my needs. The five different serving sizes for single-serve pods make it convenient to enjoy just the right amount of coffee, whether I want a quick pick-me-up or a more leisurely cup. The built-in descaling function is a nice touch, keeping both the pod and carafe sides clean and functioning well without much hassle. However, the coffee maker isn't without its quirks. I found it a bit challenging to operate at first, as the instructions could have been clearer. Setting up the clock and the morning brew function was also somewhat cumbersome. Despite these minor issues, the product meets my expectations and brews coffee quickly and efficiently. Just be aware that it takes up quite a bit of counter space. Overall, it's a reliable coffee maker that I would recommend, especially for its speed and versatility.

Works great, looks great
So far everything works perfectly, I’ve tested the cup and timer for the carafe, all works good. I’m a 2nd time Cuisinart coffee duo user. I had my first one for approximately 10yrs, the heating element for the carafe finally went. One thing i learned early on with my first one that in the beginning exploded the pods like many others have had the experience, I push the pods down until the bottom needle pokes it then I put the top down on it, it worked for 10 years and is worth a try. … however so far I haven’t had to do that with this one. It is a step down from what we had but I love it. Looks good on my counter and all. So I have nothing negative to say. If your pods explode try pushing it all the way down then put lid down it’s worked for me in the past. This one I’ve not had to do that. I just got it yesterday and so far has exceeded my expectations especially in kcup area.

Fool me twice…shame on me. DO NOT BUY SS-15 or SS-16!!
Review for Cuisinart Coffee Center SS-15 AND SS-16…We previously had the SS-15 model… which has a ton of problems in itself. Leaky water reservoir (and no, a replacement will not fix the problem), the more than occasional k-cup coffee ground explosion, and a red clean light that will not turn off no matter what you do to clean or re-program the darn thing. We decided to just deal with the SS-15 for three years and finally decided to “upgrade” to the next model, SS-16, hoping it would fix the previous problems. WELL JOKE IS ON ME. My husband brewed a pot of coffee 24-HOURS ago (worked great then) and this morning while looking for the serial number under the machine I noticed that the plate was STILL HOT! No - the “off” button does not turn off the plate and there is no side switch to turn on/off the machine like the SS-15. We attempted to make a k-cup and per the manual we had to descale the machine first. After holding the clean button, the light flickered red and it beeped five times to tell us it was done. EXCEPT NOTHING HAPPENED!! The water was still in the reservoir. We clicked on the “pod” button to select a cup size. Again. NOTHING HAPPENED.So just like the last machine three years ago, I found myself calling Cuisinart customer service AGAIN. Turns out the machine is malfunctioned. So I must either have terribly bad luck with coffee makers OR Cuisinart makes cheap quality products that could have turned into a FIRE HAZARD had I not discovered the 24/7 HOT hot plate… I’m going to go with the latter. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY on Cuisinart coffee makers. You’ve been warned.
