Excellent. The bible of transformation.

I know of at least one big bank that has followed this strategy to the letter and are now enjoying significant share price increase.

This is a great study of the different elements needed to go AI-first. Breaks the problem space into chunks, starting with first determining which business domains to remained, before moving on to such things as operating model, data architecture and change management. Well worth a read, whether you are a CEO or just someone interested in how (practically) AI can be implemented at scale.

Academic research

This book blends theory with practical guidance superbly to provide a real plan for any business looking to transform its digital or AI capabilities. Written in a very engaging way, with many useful resources, it’s a must read for people in large companies or new startups!

Good but I was expecting something a bit more deep

Workmanlike but lacking pragmatism or any sense of the human side of technology implementation

Whilst there are many important and relevant topics covered in this book, frustratingly each topic appears to have been bastardised by McKinsey and promotes a warped perspective on best practices. Often lifting concepts from well established communities, misrepresenting those topics and avoiding reference to the original sources. I can only conclude that this book is a dangerous misrepresentation of valuable practices often defined inconsistently through the book. It serves merely as a marketing material to convince company execs to employ McKinsey to implement their complex model for software delivery.I’d recommend you save the money in this book and instead read Team Topologies, Accelerate & Domain Driven Design
