This set contains everything you need to play chess, checkers, and backgammon – three of the world’s oldest games. These games are classics, and they are also a lot of fun to play. Every family should have a set like this in their home. I like this set, in particular, because it can easily be used just about anywhere, and it packs all three games into a single case. But what I like most of all is that the board and pieces are magnetic, which makes it even more portable. I played with that a bit – the chess piece will hang even if the board is at a completely vertical angle. I wouldn’t recommend you play the game on its side, but the magnet does mean the game will take a bit of a hit during play and you won’t lose your position. It’s not fancy, but it works well. The game comes complete with a reversible magnetic board with a chess board on one side and backgammon on the other. The pieces are plastic, but sturdy, and each set has its own little bag. They are easily kept within the folded game to be put away. This really is a good family set and should stand up to years of fun.

My first grader has taken a liking to chess so I had to get this board the moment I saw it. It was just a bonus it came with backgammon and checkers. The instructions are helpful and the pieces & board are magnetic so they stick very well!The only downfall was that one of the corners was cracked when I got it. Not a big deal to me, I forget about it all the time, but just a note.

I love when I can store my board games in something more durable than the cardboard boxes that they come in. To me it makes it feel much more special, the aesthetics are much more pleasing and it seems like this helps the games last much longer. This board is a pretty nice board, all the components fit back inside easily to prevent the loss of the pieces, and there are multiple games to be played with the one set.The casing itself is nice and smooth so it fits together unfolded without any gapping or splintering. The board and the pieces all seem to be fairly durable, including the hinges on the board. I like the little felt on the bottom to keep the gameplay smooth and protect the board on the chess pieces, and I wish that the same care was taken when storing the pieces. Even though the pieces are not heavy, they can still be damaged when stored loosely with each other, so I put them in socks to keep each game set together but soften the blow. I plan on making a little cloth pouch later on, but for now, this works and keeps them all separated. In one of the bags the string tore off, and another one for the chess pieces had a hole, so I found a replacement option.There are little magnets to add a little extra traction to the pieces, which is good because they are really light and would be easy to knock over with a sleeve when playing. This is not a strong enough magnet to hold them on if the board was bumped or tilted too much, but it will hold up against the light wind. The pieces are well made, with no rough edges or chips anywhere, and feel good in the hand.Overall this is a decent little setup, the case closes ok, but I do keep them in the cardboard box just to protect them as long as I can. The gameplay is fun with chess and checkers, we have not used the backgammon feature yet. The pieces are not really heavy but the magnetic traction helps a bit. Overall this is a neat little set, nothing really crazy unique, or amazing, but not a bad setup.

Really like this chess set, we ordered this for a new set to have at home and its a great fit for that. I wouldn't advise traveling frequently with the set, mostly due to its size and the closure mechanism. The pieces fit inside the set when folded up and this works well for storage and saving space, however the latch to close the set is fine for home use but I suspect would not fare well if transported frequently.As a nice bonus the set includes pieces for checkers, which also function for backgammon if you turn the board upside down, we have used this for backgammon a few times and its a nice addition.

Nice magnetic game board. Chess, Checkers and Backgammon all in one! I like that it's magnetic. We can use it outside and not worry about the wind blowing the pieces off the board!!

So far seems durable enough for what it is and how it will be used. No issues with any pieces missing.

We like to travel, and I thought this would be a great idea. You can play checkers, chess, or Backgammon with this set. The board itself is magnetic, and the pieces all have small magnets made to them so that if you tip the set over, you don't lose your game. I really really like this idea.My issue is that the game is made of think plastic. I don't think it will last whatsoever. I really like the idea, but the box feels like it will break very easily.
