Does this hold a bottle of champagne upright?

Well it can - but obviously you'd either need to have something next to it to stop it tipping over if moving (like you would in any carrier) It's basically a deep box - there are no "holders" or compartments within it if that makes sense If you plan on using the ice packs, either the yeti ones or standard, it should help keep something upright if moving it - if you plan on using loose ice cubes then obviously you'll need to seat it in the ice cubes

How long does ice remain frozen?

We emptied a full 2.5 bags of loose large ice cubes to ours in the morning and whilst some melted, we still had a decent amount of ice cubes 24 hours later. Obviously if you use loose ice, be prepared for water so you'll preferably want any non sealed items out of where the water can reach (otherwise you'll get soggy snacks) but great for cans etc

is it a freezer or just a fridge?

it's a box. It won't do anything unless you add a source of cold or heat. It's not an electric plug in one. If you have an already frozen item and put Ice into the cooler and bury the frozen item in the ice I would say it probably can prevent defrosting for approx 24 hours - we bought ice lollies and had then covered in the loose ice and they lasted the weekend It seals so it mostly retains its temperature well once cooled down but if you out something frozen in without ice - you're effectively leaving it at room temp.

Doubles as a comfy seat, ideal size for a camper van.

As a food cooler this was the best option for me, without getting involved with solar panels and electric fridges. Chuck in a bag of ice and your food will stay cold for at least 4 days between stocking up on supplies again.

My favorite cooler
