This headlamp operates for four hours at a time with an internal battery that is recharged through a USB port, not replaceable batteries that must be purchased. When traveling in other countries (as we are now), this can be an advantage or disadvantage depending upon power sources. There is also the risk of losing or misplacing the tiny cord for recharging. The device itself is excellent.

I bought these so I didn't need to buy batteries. The brightness is adequate for night fishing on the boat. Only downside is the on/off doesn't remember last setting. You have to cycle through options to get where you want. I.E. if you want low setting you must click 3 times to go through high, medium, low. To get to green light, you have to go through red, red-blink, and then green.
