Vent Axia 188110 Luminaire L Combined Extract Fan & Light. Safety Extra Low Voltage

good quality extractor fan - needed as replacement - easy to fit and working well.

I got it from Amazon for my electrician to fit as he thought it would be cheaper than his trade price, replacing one that looked the same but 17 years old. He fitted it and it works fine. One small point. I had got a previous electrician to switch the halogen bulb in the previous unit for an LED bulb, which worked fine, though I am not sure if he changed any of the wiring from what the builder had originally installed. As the same LED was now switched across to the new unit, with the rest of the wiring remaining as before, the new bezel didn't successfully clip into place and he used the old one again. I later realised that the reason for this was because the new bezel has a rubber sealing ring around the rim of the lamp and the LED is presumably a couple of mm longer than the halogen bulb, stopping it seating properly. The old bezel didn't have a rubber seal, however, probably because it was removed by the previous electrician when he found the same problem. I removed the ring and the new bezel fitted fine. The only potential problem I can see is that loss of the rubber seal would theoretically allow a small amount of steam to leak up round the outside of the bulb and through the motor area instead of through the fan, but since the fan is sucking the air anyway and I had no problem with the previous unit for several years until the fan bearings packed up, I doubt it is a material problem, and it's only 12v anyway.

The product was delivered in good time and was well packed. As it was a replacement for an existing Vent Axia fan, fitting was no problem although the instructions are not as clear as they could be. However the Halogen light did not work because the separate transformer for the light was faulty and blew the fuse. I had to buy another transformer from a local electrician to finish the job.

Bought as a replacement for older model which had become very noisy. Now nice and quiet. Easy to fit as wiring was already there.

The fan is now fitted in bathroom, perfect.

Pricey, but just what I was after for the new en-suite, fitted easily, very quiet running, shame the bulb was not working when installed a few days after receipt!

Excellent service from the supplier. My electrician couldn't get the fan to work on the first one. I returned it and the company sent a new one by return. An excellent little piece of kit
