As stated this adds a salt like taste to foods. Now I have found it is not as strong as salt in the flavor. In other words you need more of this to flavor the food. But dang even just a little is better on many things than no salt at all. I make a lot of soups with 0 salt in them due to having one Kidney. And despite the spices and curries and other things they always never quite tasted right. This though has added punch to the flavor and makes it more enjoyable to eat (and easier to stay at under 1000 mg of sodium per day).

The flavor is fantastic and I didn’t miss salt at all! I highly recommend this to anyone trying to reduce salt in their diet.

This is the best salt substitute I have found. However, do not directly apply this over food, especially hot food, as the steam will cause the product to clump together. I have had to throw out the clumped product at the final 1/3 of the bottle. If they improved the clumping tendency, this would be a superior product.

Love this seasoning! I have CKD, and need to really watch my sodium intake so eliminating as much salt from my diet was recommended by my nutritionist. This seasoning is so flavorful and versatile. I use it everyday!

Good substitute. Especially if you have kidney problems and high blood pressure.

Pros: I've been using Benson's Table Tasty salt substitute for about three years, and it's the only salt substitute that has kept me (a saltaholic) away from salt. I love the flavor and there is absolutely no aftertaste. I don't know how they do it, but it does taste salty.The Cons: I find I have to use it liberally to taste the "saltiness" and it is expensive. Also, you probably won't want to use it while cooking because the flavor tends to weaken during the cooking process. I sprinkle it on while eating at the table.I really do like it, and it's certainly worth to me, so I give the flavor 5 stars.

My cardiologist recently advised me to go on a low-sodium diet. I have done so, and Benson's Table Tasty salt substitute has been a Godsend. I've tried lots of salt substitutes, and this is the one that I use every day. I wish more local stores carried the product, but ordering through Amazon has been a marvelous substitute. Great product!
