Reliable, Great-Sounding Strings — Always a Solid Choice!
I’ve used D’Addario strings for years, and the EXL125-3D set continues to be one of the best options out there for electric guitar players. This 3-pack is excellent value, especially if you go through strings regularly like I do. The hybrid gauge (9-46) gives the perfect balance: the lighter top strings make bending easy and expressive, while the heavier bottom strings provide solid rhythm tones with plenty of punch. The tone is bright, but not harsh, and they settle in quickly after the first stretch — staying in tune reliably even with aggressive playing. The nickel wound design gives a smooth, comfortable feel under the fingers and a classic, versatile sound that works well across multiple styles — from rock to blues to indie. Plus, each set is individually sealed inside the main packaging to keep them fresh, which is a big plus if you’re not using all three sets at once. Overall, D’Addario remains my go-to brand for a reason: consistent quality, great tone, and excellent durability. Highly recommend these for anyone looking for a dependable string upgrade.

amazing tone and feel at a great price
I LOVE these strings. These have been my go to string brand and gauge for a number of years. Daddario always put out amazing quality products at a great price and these are no exception. These sound nice and bright, and hold their freshness for a number of weeks of heavy playing. They break in quickly and hold tuning amazingly. I really can not recommend these enough. These are great for a number of genres and playing styles. Perfect for me when on fender scale guitars in standard or Eb tuning.

D'Addario EXL 125 Nickel-plated electric guitar strings gauge 9-46
I've tried many different brands such as Curt Mangan, Ernie Ball, Everly B-52s, GHS, Gibson all of which are relatively well-priced but have a very obviously short life. I must say that there are times when using this set of D'Addario EXL125 strings, I sort of wonder why I bothered at all because at the fraction of the cost compared to so many up-market brands, the string life and delivery of tone from the D'Addarios is actually consistent and good. Do not expect "breath-taking" tone, which, also depends heavily on your guitar and playing ability ;) Having a rather heavy hard-rock rhythm right hand coupled with a desire for wild bluesy bends, I chose this gauge to suit my style which covers anything from blues, country to jazz and rock and roll. I use these strings with a tele, strat, an SG and a firebird VII: all sounding good. If you're tired of mucking around with experimenting or struggling to afford expensive strings which claim to last longer, just remember this: it actually helps to just wipe down your strings after playing. After all, strings are made of metal and they WILL rust no matter how expensive or boutique the make. Just bear in mind that the strings wraps of the EXL 125s are NICKEL-PLATED instead of PURE NICKEL, hence the cheaper price. It is misrepresentation of some sorts, but: I've been using this set for about 2 weeks, approximately 2-3hrs playing time per day and they are still alive, and I expect them to last for another 2 more weeks of playing.

Best guitar strings I've bought
These must be pre stressed or something, cause I tuned them once and they stayed in tune. No super bending or chinnups off the strings, just restring and tune, job done. Earni Balls can suck on my plums, I'm only ever buying these from now on.

the only strings worth playing ?
having been a player for the last 25 years & tried most gear, strings are a very subjective thing indeed,I have always found D'addario stings consistant, nice sounding & well lasting. intonation of the guitar never seems off with these & they never require too much of a stretch. ok you can buy cheaper strings but they sometimes tend to affect some of the above factors. my guitar technician steered me towards them years back & to be honest he is spot on . buy these as a multi pack & save a bit of cash, your guitar deserves them :)

I Recommend these strings..
These are the normal popular string size, for a Les Paul or a 335 type semi acoustic. Great tone easy to fit as each string ball is colour coded, and stay fresh for a long playing time.highly recommended..

I've been using D'Addario strings for 30yrs as a professional and have always found them reliable, excellent quality and affordable. I use 11's on the Washburn and my Strat has to be the 9-46's as I need a lot more bend for solos like in the short low res video you see here. I've never had issues with breakage given the amount I use my tremolo (especially on the Washburn) and that's all you could ask for playing live. Yes, they make more expensive strings, but when you play for a living and have to buy a lot of strings, you use what works best but also doesn't break the bank. Definitely recommend.

Actually, these are 9-46 not 9-42 as described. I ordered based on the photo and got what I wanted anyway but if you want a 42 bottom, these are not the right ones. Amazon should edit the description. They are excellent strings BTW.
