Amtech F0930 20 Piece high Speed Steel (HSS) Micro Drill bits (0.3mm - 1.6mm)

Tricky box, irregular increments
You don't know how small a 0.3mm drill is until you see it. I saw it when the box slipped out of my fingers and broke open on the kitchen floor sending all the drills scattering.I eventually got them all back in what I think are the right slots, but the sliding cover is so stiff it doesn't actually work. It's a nice idea - slide it along until the hole lines up with the drill you want - but it doesn't slide. So maybe when I actually need a drill I'll have to drop the box on the kitchen floor again.NB Having used them for the first time, it's odd that they start in 0.05mm increments up to 1mm, but then suddenly jump to 0.2mm increments. A consistent 0.1mm increment would be better. Lose a star.

Do not rely on the case
The drill bits are perfectly fine and perform as they should. The case on the other hand is a seperate matter. I found the case very tough and hard to open, so hard infact, that when it did open, I had so much force going into it, the drill bits flew out the case. These small bits are very hard to find, especially on carpet. So if you intend to replace the case then please be very careful when opening for the first time. The case also does not keep the bits seperate very well. For example, if I were to tip it upside down and back again, I can easily find that the bits have moved into each other's holders. This is made worse by the fact its impossible to distinguish them apart well enough without busting out the callipers which I should not need to do.

Handy for the hobbiest
Came very quickly and packaged well. This is just what I wanted for some hobby work. I know they won’t last forever but they will last long enough for the jobs I need doing, at this price I don’t expect perfection just good enough to do the job and that they are. They come in a handy little case where each bit has its own slot, handy to have to keep them safe and secure.

Good bits, awkward case
The sliding mechanism is ridiculously stiff. I haven't ended up flinging all the bits on the floor yet...but I think it's only a matter of time. i suppose it will get better with use... but I'm 44 and this is the first time I've ever needed micro drill bits. Ah well, when I'm 184, the case will be fine. The bits themselves seem perfectly ok. I've only used the 0.6mm bit so far, but it cut through plastic with ease.1 star lost for the awkward case.

Micro drills selection meet my expectations. Advisable to only take one out at a time and replace it back into the case before taking out another one because the differences in the graduated sizes are so small that you might visually mix up the size order. Also a check with vernier gauge to be completely certain.

These drills are NOT HSS and will blunt very quickly!Used them to drill holes in a pcb I'm making, (glass fiber around 1.5mm thick, blunt after 20 holes).OK if you want to drill holes in soft material, but for metal or glass fiber - NO.Get what you pay for I suppose!!
