Talking Kitchen Scales - Big Numbers with Clear Loud Voice North American Accent (Black)

I ordered this scale for two reasons: I have eyesight that isn't great AND I use Alexa a lot. So I'm accustomed to having "voices" around. The buttons are easy to use -- left button to change from grams to ounces, etc. and the right button for on/off and tare weight. The numbers are nice and big. So if you don't need the voice assistant, you can use the scale without it. But, I'm planning ahead... so as my eyesight worsens, I'm not helpless in the kitchen. I use a scale every day to weigh the food for my doggos so they don't gain weight. I'm more successful in baking if I use a scale vs. measuring cups. That's a more infrequent use, but also a factor. I switched from a regular scale to this one to see if I liked it. I do! The male voice is easy to understand. He says the weight and pauses... so if you add a little more or subtract a little, he'll also tell you the new weight. I think I'll call him Bob. The scale automatically turns off if it's idle for 90 seconds so it doesn't drain the battery. I recommend it whether you need the audio or not. It's nice to have "Bob" in my kitchen.

I bought this for my dialysis unit because I have patients with poor eye sight and they are unable measure their drain fluid using a spring scale. This scale is easy to use and a huge help for my patients. The voice reading and accuracy are worth every penny. I am glad I was able to find a reliable tool to help my patients have safe treatments.

Scale worked great for the first 3mo. Then It started freezing up in the middle of a measurement and not adjusting the measurement as you continued to add ingredients. As time has gone on it has gotten worse and it is not worth using anymore. The talking feature is great as my wife is blind but not not when it doesn't work correctly. Update - seller reached out to me after my review and offered an unconditional full refund. Received the refund the next day.

Having lost most of my sight to a progressive retinal disease, I've had to adapt to a changing world when it comes to devices. The digital food scale we used for years became too hard to read, even when using a magnifier. So, I searched for talking scales, and this one popped up as a good choice. After using it for a few weeks, I can say I'm very happy with the purchase. It works as advertised, and has made my life that much easier. Surprisingly, my spouse (she can see fine) also likes it. Besides the convenience of not having to look at the screen while weighing, it's also nice and light, and takes up less room than our old one. Overall, it's a very good deal, and essential if you like to work in the kitchen but can't read a normal scale.

I have limited vision, but still like to cook. After using a text to speech app on my phone, I was able to read the instructions. After that? Easy Peezy. The speech output is clear and loud. I was able to accurately measure the weight of the flower for my bread recipe. I would highly recommend this if you are low vision or have no vision. It works. Of course, all you cited people can use it too.

I do not really need voice feature, though it works good, but I like big number display, easy to see and roomy place for your container or plate.

UPDATE; After using this a few more times I am honestly disappointed and frustrated. The weight is often inaccurate, over 50 grams off which is not acceptable. The voice is increasingly frustrating due to the inability to understand the difference between numbers such as 17 or 70. And the fact it speaks negative weight when removing the container to fill with water is annoying and distracting which has caused me to forget the amount I need to measure. What is even more frustrating is discovering there is only 30 days to return this item and I am at day 35! There are better options and I would no longer recommend this to anyone. My last talking scale needed to be replaced after many good years of use , couldn’t find the same one so I decided to give this version a try. Overall it will be fine, not better or great, just ok. Pros: Lightweight. Stable single piece design, no need to screw on the weight plate. Seems fairly accurate. Easy function with only two buttons, if you typically use only one type of measurement (I prefer grams) once it’s set you’ll only use one button. Volume is loud but not so intense I needed to cover the speaker with tape to lower volume. Cons: Clarity of voice could be improved, hard to hear different between 17 or 70 for example. Don’t like that it reads 150 as one hundred and fifty, the and is unnecessary and distracting. Don’t like that it will read the negative weight when you remove measuring container, again this is unnecessary and annoying to have the voice speaking constantly when not needed. Having the power button also be the tare button is actually a bit annoying, the speaker goes crazy reciting info while you hold the button for the amount of time needed to turn off the device.

Voice is clear and loud. Scales appear to be quite accurate. I like the 4 measurement mode options which announce the current weight on the scale each time you toggle the left button. I especially like the automatic announcement of any weight changes on the scale. The 0 reset button is perfect for tear weight. Good value for money. It is plastic but seems well made and perfectly fine as an everyday kitchen tool. Be nice if there was a stainless steel model. Also would have been nice if it shipped with batteries as most devices do these days that take a couple triple A batteries. I had some so no big deal but it would have been nice to have them in the box. I'm satisfied with the scales so far.

Es muy fácil de usar, tiene buen volumen, lo único que no me gustó es que no habla en español cuando se programa la báscula para medir en gramos. Por este motivo, hay que acostumbrarse a escuchar las medidas en gramos con acento inglés.
