In the final decades of its existence the Ottoman Empire was a focus of international rivalry among European Great Powers. Historians of the foreign policy, especially the Turkish policy, of these Great powers, have come together to address some of the important questions posed by the fall of the Ottoman Empire, following the First world War, to the victorious Allied Powers and to the forces of militant nationalism led by Kemal Atatnrk.
