Exceptional quality and a joy to use
This is a DELIGHT to cook with on a double burner induction cooktop. Make sure to season the metal even though it comes lightly seasoned from the factory. It'll grab your food otherwise on the first use. It is robust and heavy - the handles are extremely sturdy - no bend whatsoever. I ended up putting a silicon barrier on the induction cooktop to protect it from scratches since this feels like it could do that by weight. But the two times I've used it without protection, there was no damage to the glass surface of the range. Granted, I was being careful not to slide it. It retains heat VERY well, yet responds to intentional temperature changes in just a few seconds. I look for reasons to use this. It's enjoyable to cook with. Thick steaks cook perfectly on it. Sear then reduce to medium - easy every time.

Recommended by a local chef, works great on our induction stovetop
A local chef recommended this griddle during our cooking class at an appliance store that sells induction ranges and cook tops. It's become a workhorse in our kitchen because of its versatility and because I can grill a whole meal on it at once. The griddle arrives pre-seasoned but I didn't trust it to be nonstick, so I heated a thin film sunflower oil on it for the first use. It is almost perfectly nonstick (I always cook with at least a little oil) and it heats up very fast on our cooktop. The handles do heat up but they remain cool enough for me to move the griddle quickly with my bare hands. For cleaning I do not use soap or detergent. I rinse it with hot water, rub a sprinkle of table salt to remove any food residue, rinse again, dab it dry and then put it on the cooktop on low heat for 5 minutes to thoroughly dry. I also use a large metal lid from another pot for covering food and a large flat metal spatula with wood handle.

Great griddle option for those that only have grills.
Saw this on one of my favorite YouTube cook channels and decided to pick it up because I wanted to make SmashBurgers and I didn't own a griddle. - Very well made, sturdy, and will probably outlast me. Not cast iron, but high carbon steel. I can't imagine denting or bending this thing. - Just big enough to fit on top of the average gas grill. But not big enough to cook lots of food at once. I was able to get 3 burger patties on it at once. If you are cooking for a family of 4 or more, you'll probably want something bigger. - Much like cast iron, not entirely non-stick. Must use with some kind of oil/fat to keep food from sticking. - Was able to use on high heat over a gas grill just fine. - Cleaned-up easily after a very messy, greasy cook. I wiped-off excess grease and oil, then rinsed with mild dish soap and warm water. Immediately placed on burner to heat it up and evaporate any trace of water, and wiped a thin layer of oil on it. - comes with a canvas bag for storage, but doesn't entirely cover it! Handle sticks out the top of the bag. This was expensive, but I think it was a fair value. Quality stuff. I'd recommend it to an individual or a couple, but not for a big family due to its size.

High quality griddle
Good high quality carbon steel griddle with excellent nonstick properties. Used a few times with a little grape seed oil and it works flawlessly on the propane grill. Takes a bit to warm up but performs excellently. I do wish the lip edges were slightly higher, as anything with liquid will easily get close to overflow if the grill isn't perfectly level, but still a great product.

Cheap details and NOT remotely worth the price.
Bottom line up front: It is no where near worth the $170 that Made In asks for, and doesn't resemble the beautiful craftsmanship of their other products. 1. They do not include the necessary handle protectors any longer.....you know, for when the thing is super hot. You can buy them separately though. (No thanks, there are far cheaper options). 2. The edges are sharp (won't cut you or anything) and have a completely unfinished feeling to the. For something in this price range I expect a finished feel. Rounded edges, smooth surfaces.....you know, the things that set it apart? 3. The surface is rough to the touch akin to the cheap cast iron of today that can be found at any grocery store. Certainly not a high end piece of cooking equipment. Find 100 year old carbon steel or cast iron cookware and it's incredibly smooth and almost non-stick without seasoning. 4. Does not fit my standard size oven unless I jam it in there and even then the door stays cracked which is unsafe.......kind of makes it hard to season the cook surface which, given the poor quality, means everything will stick.

Love it!
A great cast iron skillet, quite large! It almost didn't fit on my stove! It's VERY HEAVY! But I've enjoyed cooking on it. It's easy to clean, too.

Decent, But Should Be Smoother For the Price
Would have been 5 stars but for such an expensive piece, one would think it would be smooth and not grainy. After seasoning according to instructions, it was still spotty and sticky in some areas. I decided I couldn't stand the grainy, pebble feel so I used my power sander and sanded it with 150 and 200 which made it smooth as a stainless steel pan. Then I hand finished it with 600 and 1000 grit. It still had an appearance of grainy but it's smooth and slick. I then did a quick stovetop burn in season then did 4 cycles of seasoning at 450° F; 5th and final cycle was 15 mins at 500° F and left in oven 20 minutes, then put on stove for final cool down. It's slick as heck now and it's the smooth it SHOULD have been for the purchase price. I've done this with other skillets that have that grainy surface; shouldn't have to but oh well!!!

Too be honest I tend to write few reviews, time consuming and tedious. However sometimes you have to make an effort. I’m a retired chef of 50 years from the UK. I’ve purchased just about every kitchen toy you could imagine. My thoughts on this item? 1. Second you open the package you know, touch, see, feel you’ve purchased a quality item. 2. It’s heavy, nice, has great heat retention properties. 3. Pretty much….. (not 100%) but pretty much none stick straight out of the package. A few cooks resolves any minor issues. (im being really very picky) 4. Can cook pretty much anything you wish. Stir fry, steaks, fish, eggs, veg, omelettes, potatoes…… you name it, you can pretty much do it. 5. Fits my gas stove top at home perfectly. I can use lower the gas burners as I wish. Get the heat where I want it. 6. Easy to wipe clean. 7. Great cooking size surface area. 8. When you hold it, work with it, quality shines through. You know….. just know this is a one off life time purchase. It will last your whole life. 9. A cover/lid and press available. I already had both within my BBQ kit, I did not purchase these items. 10. Nothing negative to say. Once again, retired chef of 50 years.yes, yes, yes…. It comes at a price, it’s costly there are many cheaper. But this is a classic case of :- “You get what you pay for. Buy once, buy right” Strikes me, even in these early days as pretty much indestructible, kinda thing will be handed down through the family. That’s the kind of life expectancy you can anticipate. It’s carbon steel. Leave it hanging about wet it will rust. This is how carbon steel is, it’s not a fault of the product. Your finished working smear it with tiny bit of cooking oil On paper towel. Tiny amount, just enough to make it shine, takes five seconds. If you do mess up? Leave it outside for two weeks in the rain…. IT WILL RUST! BE AWARE IT WILL RUST. That said? If your a bit practical and own a brain you can easily recondition it, your good to go again, with no ongoing damage problems. Because of cost it’s probably not for every home cook. If you cook, like to cook seriously, cook fresh food (Not packet junk) like to experiment….. go for it. You won’t regret it. Great cooking area, stands high heat, huge flexibility, heavy great heat retention, a one off purchase. PS. Yeah…. It is a bit costly. Get over it, stop “looking” and buy. Promise you won’t regret it.

Has helped us in the kitchen on a gas stove to make many grilled cheese sandwiches. Was a great find for the price!

Just received my griddle and anxious to begin using it. Somewhat disappointed that it didn’t come with the custom leather handle covers since every advertisement I saw on Facebook and YouTube featured them. At any rate I went back to Amazon.ca to order them but they were not available in Canada. They are in the US, but do not ship to Canada.
