This box of jewelry testing tools is excellent. The acids work well and the box to keep everything in is sturdy. It is reasonably priced and arrived quickly. It is very useful to have learned how to test gold and silver metals.

This set everything you’ll need to testing gold , silver and platinum. So easy the use. Use gloves as recommended in instructions. The acid can burn you. It’s amazing how much of my jewelry is gold plated or gold filed. Jewelry I thought was gold toned and ready to donate. It’s a handy kit to have. Recommend

I have received the complete kit with directions for use. The stone is a very small one, but I was still prevented from other reviews, and I didn't mind. Acids for gold testing seem to work well, but unfortunately the silver testing acid doesn't work at all: I have verified it on 22kt marked pieces.

My niece is training to be a jeweler. I got this to test some estate jewelry and she showed me how to do it. She said it's just like the one she uses at school. The printed instructions in the kit matched how she showed me. The piece of "rough" glass you scrape the jewelry on is pretty smooth - it doesn't leave really obvious marks on the jewelry which is nice if you intend to sell or keep the jewelry, not just scrap it.

If you collect silver, this is a necessity. It has already paid for itself by discovering one piece of "silver" that turned out to be silver in color only. It's compact, and comes with everything except for a silver slide, which can be made from quality strong, flat magnets glued to a small board. The one I made fits inside the box that this kit comes in. I'm very happy and confident in my purchases now that I can verify the metals.
