I have 12+ Sofirn (same company) and Wurkkos flashlights. Many of them have different purposes yet sometimes their uses overlap. Some lights are great for far away spotlighting in a narrow pattern. Others are better closer up (under 30ft) with a nice wide flood pattern. A few lights have a little of both attributes. The only major difference between lights after that is how powerful is it and how small or large is it? This lights purpose is much like a simple inexpensive Swiss Army knife. It is one of the smallest good lights you can get from them. What you may lose in power you gain in compactness and get 3 different lights in one. 3 lights : red/flash red, flashlight(lo/med/hi), glowing lamp(lo/med/hi). Honestly the red is worthless to me although some may like it in an emergency. The flashlight is good enough to get by most places, especially inside your house like how I use it. My favorite feature though is the glowing lamp mode. It doesn’t shine anywhere light a flashlight but instead lights up an area like a lamp would. I use this when I have to hit the bathroom late at night and don’t want a bright light hitting my eyes! Also good for reading or a nice little nite lite . All in all it’s a great little lite to keep in your pocket or in your car. If you need more brightness or throw that’s when you need to own more than one light!

I have to say, I *really* like the size of this thing. It's 2-3/4" x 7/8" and it is PERFECT for fitting in to that little pocket above the main pocket in your pants. I haven't had it for a long time, but I'm pretty convinced it's going to become part of my every-day carry. The lamp itself is a pleasant color and certainly bright enough for my needs. I'm not entirely sure how I'll use the lantern feature, but even if I never do -- the beam light is perfect for my needs. The only thing which could use improvement is the control mechanism -- because there are so many states the lamp can be in (and only one button), you have to execute a series of long, short, and double clicks to get through all the functions. It seems cumbersome, but definitely not a deal breaker. The above critique said, it's definitely worth it.

I am in the ship repair business, so I often find myself in very dark confined spaces of ships like ballast tanks and void spaces. I’ve been a long time fan of the Wurkkos FC11, so much so that I have more than one and I have bought them as gifts for others. So along comes this little guy, and it immediately strikes a chord with me. The only thing the FC11 lacks for me is the flood light, which is fantastic. This thing is really bright, and the ability to light up a general space is REALLY handy! Some folks might get use out of the red light feature, but I find it just gets in my way. (I also don’t care for strobes, SOS, etc so I’m happy this only has the red light feature, which I guess I might use if I was camping or something) A big problem I have with my trusty FC11 is that it’s really easy to accidentally turn on in your pocket. Not so with the WK04, requiring a long press to start. No more bright pockets and dead batteries!! Pros: Tiny, this thing will fit into any pocket (picture is the WK04 next to one of my FC11s) Literally as big as a fat tube of chapstick Flood and Spot light BRIGHT! So bright when the flood light is on you can barely see the power button to turn it back off Rechargeable like most (all?) of Wurkkos lights, and it charges with the quickness Cons: Really wish it had a magnet (but again I work in metal boxes so I get TONS of use out of that)

Received defective unit (returning). Flood light switch did not respond, flood light could not be turned off, or adjusted. Temperature elevated to point that I could not touch flashlight handle without burning my skin. I'd call this VERY poor Chinese quality control. Light was indeed very bright.
