Used these on a heavy MDF lid for a large cabinet, and they are very strong and do the job with ease. Fairly easy to fit, just follow the instructions.

An easy item to install but be aware the instructions are in imperial. This seems a quality product but not quite powerful enough for the job I wanted them to do. The storage box I have has a wooden hinged lid, the item holds the lid open fine but fails to slow the lid down when closing the box.

I bought these for a bench seat lid. It used to have simple hinges that slammed shut due to the weight. But with these easy-to-install hinges, it not only closes smooth as silk, but the lid stays open while I root around inside.

Firstly, the instructions are awful. Had to read Q&As on amazon to find the installation video, which was slightly better but still confusing. I installed it according to the instructions but the chest lid didn't close properly because the stays were fully compressed. I suggest mounting them about 3mm lower in the chest than the instructions say. Secondly, they are badly made. The end that attaches to the chest sides is too wide for the reversible pivot pin provided. Also, said reversible pivot broke during assembly and now I can never remove the screw that attaches the pivot to the damper. Thirdly and most annoyingly, the stated force for each damper is very misleading. I'm sure the damper itself is actually 200N, but the force it provides in lifting the chest lid is more like 60N by my calculation, or 120N for the pair. This means the lid comes crashing down on tiny fingers. Soft close, my a$$. You also cannot trust that it will lift 30lbs as stated, because this very much depends on the size of the lid and where the centre of gravity lies. My lid is 18kg (40lbs) and as you can see in the video, 2 struts do not come anywhere close to supporting it. I now have to cut huge pockets in the underside of the lid to reduce the weight to a point where the dampers can slow it down enough for the soft close to work. Basically you need a mechanical engineering degree to work these things out. Which I have, and I still got it wrong.

After trying cheaper ones, bought this. One was enough to hold a large (120 x 60 x 1.8 cm) wooden treasure box lid safe. I specially bought this to make sure the lid does not snap on the kids fingers when using the box, and it is very good and safe. Slow closure with no sudden snap at the end unlike the previous one I used. Installation was also simple. Also have a spare one to make more treasure boxes! After a question asked by another customer, thought to put the picture of how it holds the chest lid for clarity.

I made a bin store to accommodate all the wheelie bins and various recycling boxes for a house divided into 3 flats. I used pressure treated wood and was very pleased with the result. Only problem was the lid was too heavy for people to hold in open position while lifting in their sacks of rubbish. These heavy duty gas springs were the perfect answer and are now in regular daily use. Highly recommended.

Je l'ai installé sur le couvercle d un grand coffre pour un aménagement de Van. Elle aide la monte et la descente.(1 seul verin installé). Avec un seul doigt l ouverture est facile, plus de problème avec des enfants ! C est donc bien dans mon cas. Pour info, le couvercle est en contreplaqué bouleau et est lourde 140*60*1.5.

Acheter pour maintenir le lourd couvercle d’une malle. Parfait. J’ai les 2 verins pour ralentir l’ouverture et la fermeture.
