MAX WATER COLLECTION DIVERTER
I purchased this product last month in March, 2025. It rained the next week, and the diverter filled up my 55 gallon barrel in 2 days. It collects a lot of rain and works exactly as described. It's not easy to assemble because you need to pay strict attention to the shape of the parts. The front side is different than the back side, so all the parts need to align properly for it to work correctly. I assume that the folks who said it doesn't work did not assemble it properly, however the instructions are not easy to follow the alignment issue. I had no problems because I'm an engineer, and I pay attention to details. This diverter is the best compared to others, and comes with all the parts you need to attach a pipe or hose. I like that it comes with a ball-valve so you can shut off the water flow when the rain barrel is full and it will automatically divert the overflow water to the down spout. Another good feature is that the top part can slide up the upper downspout, allowing you to see inside and clean out any debris. Then slide it back down to seal it again.

Easy installation
In monsoon season we get torrential rain and they will leak out because of the large amount of water

Keeps debris out of the rain barrel
Good filter. Clogs up at times. Need to inspect and keep clear of debris. However, that what it’s meant to do, and it keeps debris out of the main collection barrel. Never mounted it permanently so that disassembly/ reassembly goes easy. Stays together when in use. Also, not too hard to install. And nice feature being able to turn the spigot on/off. Good product.

This Thing Works Great!
My wife collects rain water for her orchids. Her previous system was to catch the water coming out from the downspout in a bucket, and then to fill half gallon milk containers using a funnel. This was a pain in the neck, so we looked for a better solution and found this product. Installing it was very easy, only taking about 15 minutes, and it works spectacularly well. You can fill the milk jugs by just catching the stream from the diverter in the jug, no hose required, no filling a bucket first. During the last rain my wife collected 15 gallons of clean rain water in about 10 minutes. Amazing! Not only that, the way it's constructed will make it super easy to clean if it ever gets clogged with debris. I cannot recommend this product highly enough.

Works excellent after slight modification
The rain diverter works well, but only if the inner section that collects the water is properly sealed until it reaches the overflow point. Otherwise, water leaks into the downspouts and never reaches the overflow. I resolved this by gluing the two lower inner parts together with plenty of silicone. Now it works like a charm.

Not very good.
I have this connected to a downspout that services 252 sq. ft. of roof. I have an open downspout going to another set of rain barrels that is from 144 sq. ft of roof. The rain barrels supplied by this diverter collect about 1/4 of the amount of rain water that the open downspout rain barrels collect. I do not believe that this is very efficient. This diverter has never clogged so that cannot be the reason for less water recovery. I am also using both ports to supply the rain barrels.
