I'm 5ft tall, it can support my head only just, so I would say no for taller people, unless you feel comfortable with the back of the chair under the back of your neck

Could you change the legs to something else?

No, they are welded onto a bar. The chair comes with 2 'leg frames', which cross in the middle/center of the underside of the seat. You attach with a central screw. So it looks like an X underneath the seat and the legs are all part of the X, in a solid piece. The legs are not separate parts. Hope that makes sense.

are the covers washable

No, they are fixed, stapled to the chair seat area and the back too. There is velcro but it does not allow you to remove.

Is this comfortable for sitting in for at least an hour or two?

It’s more of a display chair in my daughters room, but she often sits on it playing her guitar. She loves it and says it’s so soft and comfy
