I love this keyboard, Only Minor Issues
This is the 1st ever True Mechanical Keyboard I have owned and I am so pleased I decided to buy it.When I 1st got the keyboard I plugged it into a system and to my delight it worked instantly (not really a huge shock)Even the Mode Key (the M top right of the keyboard) worked changing the RGB Modes, Note it was green lite when it 1st turned on.So as above you could change through a few modes static (green LED) and a few RGB effects using the M button but for more control the Amazon Basics Software is needed. The 5 Macros keys look like they had a test macro put on them as they would have a random letter with numbers 1 to 5 next to them on each press, the only way to change the Macro is via the Amazon Basics Software. The Keys/Switches.Now as a few others have stated I to can hear a spring on pressing some of the keys (not all) but it's like a small ting sound once you bottom out the key. For me this is no issue at all as I can hardly hear it.It's not confirmed what the switches actually are but as someone else pointed out these are most likely Otemu Blue switches, that to me isn't a bad thing either. The Key Caps themselves seem like they are just standard painted ABS plastic with the letters unpainted. On arrival though I noticed a few keys on the edges bleeding a tiny bit of light as if they wasn't sprayed fully of they may have chipped. It's only tiny dots but its to bare in mind, they can very easily be replaced with aftermarket keycaps.Being Blue switches these are a little loud so bare that in mind.Macro keys are on the left, I however knock them quite a bit as im not use to having macro keys (this I will learn not to do - this is just a personal issue not a keyboard fault)Amazon Basics SoftwareSo as said almost everything you do on this keyboard requires the software to work but I do not have any complaints about the software unlike other people who have reviewed this keyboard.Clear big buttons on the left to go into options to control the RGB Lighting with each of the modes as well as the Macro Keys, I say that however the Macro section could be made allot easier to understand as it took a few clicks around the screen to figure out how to actually make custom macros. It is pre loaded with loads of macros as standard just labeled up as random numbers (no idea what any of them do).I will revisit this review and post a bit more on the software at a later date when its in front of me.I plan to make a youtube video on this on my channel at some point to.Pro'sKeys feel amazing to use.Nice tactile click.Macro's make life easy for regularly posted content. It's Silly Cheap, I mean I payed £23 for mine.Wrist rest is really comfortable.ConsMacro keys a little to close on the left (this is a personal issue I can learn to deal with)Macro section of the Amazon Basics software could be made to be more understandable of what it doesCan hear a slight spring ping when pressing some keys.Loud switches. Some keycaps had the smallest of paint chip to the side of the keycaps. All the cons above to me are all minor con's but for the sake of the review I thought I best let you know everything I came across whilst using this board.I love this keyboard and for £23 I am seriously happy with my purchase.

Great, only small issues
Overall great keyboard. One of the best value for money true mechanical keyboards on the market and you know that it is going to be ok because it is from Amazon. What I likeThe key switches are hardly distinguishable from cherry switches. Personally, I prefer the 104 key layout but if you don’t I wouldn’t go with this. I have suffered with RSI in the past, so the wrist rest is a bonus and pared with my Logitech MX Master it makes a great setup. What I dislikeMy main complaint is that some of the larger keys (space, enter) make a horrible spring sound as they come up after a key press. I think that this is a stabilisation issue. My other complaint is that the software is horrible. I can’t set up macros and every time I do, they don’t work. The RGB management is not great either. However, everything considered, it is a great product and I do not regret purchasing one bit.

Good quality keyboard with a major flaw
The media could not be loaded. First impressions were good, keys are great to type with, keyboard feels heavy and durable, looks great too. The noise emitted by the keys when pressed is louder than expected but I felt this was a minor issue. My first issue was locating the software needed to set up the macro keys and customisation, and I spent a good hour or two tracking down the software from various product pages, eventually finding what I was after. The major flaw is that now, after 3 months, the keyboard has developed intermittent 'dropouts' where it will lose power for a split second and it happens regularly. I have tried to remedy by performing a reset to factory defaults in the software to cure it, to no avail. This is no longer suitable for gaming as the keyboard can't become unresponsive when constantly relying on it for movement purposes.Would not recommend.

Good features, poor build. False economy
In terms of features and function, this is, on paper, a winner. However it is not well built and was returned after a single day of use.PROGreat lighting effectsDecent software - if you can find itHighly configurableSolid mechanical switches on single keysVery responsiveCONLarge keys are AWFUL. Return action has space bar, enter, shift etc making a rattly twangVery plastic build. Think fisher price and you're thereReally heavy, which is not bad in itself, but combined with the slightly shonky plastic shouts more Lada than Mercedes. In the end, after a couple of days of use, the enter key stuck down so was returned. I'd avoid it.

Great value Keyboard... But...
For the price you shouldn't be able top fault the Amazon Basics Mechanical Keyboard, well built, great software nice lighting options and accurate typing experience. So why 3 stars and a BUT?The key caps are a little 'childish' in design, but the real issue was that noise....Even with the most gentle of key presses there is a metallic 'twang', a bit like metal knicker elastic. There is no way you could use this long term with that annoying high pitch 'twang' every time you press a key.I opened the box, plugged it in, pressed a few keys, packed it back into the box and sent it back within 30 minutes.Sorry Amazon this one is a fail for me and I believe that many others would find the noisiness way too distracting to keep it, in the long term.Cherry
