Great box dye that I love, but be aware it does lift the colour of your natural hair.
I used this after having highlights for years on my naturally light mousy brown hair. I felt highlighting my hair was very expensive and I never quite got the result I was after. When my roots started to come through after the last highlight session I decided to give this a go. It’s BRILLIANT! I now have the colour I’ve been after all these years at a fraction of the cost. Be aware, it does have a warmth to it and if you don’t want that, DO NOT use it. I really like the warmth, it’s kind of a light apricot or peach, rather than a ginger. I’ve now used it twice, doing it again after the roots began to grow. My roots are warmer than the ends, which is to be expected as the new growth has not been previously bleached, but if your hair is already lightened on the lengths the transition isn’t really noticeable and still looks natural. It did lighten the roots at least a shade or two. So know while it says it washes out after 28 washes, it will still mildly bleach (or at least lift) your natural colour if your colour is lighter than that shown on the box. It’s not simply a temporary stain that will truly wash out - it’s a very mild bleach of hair lift that also deposits what is essentially a toner. The toner part does fade when you wash it, but I only wash my hair once or twice a week tops, so it last well for me. I also have about 40% grey, well my hair is going white rather than grey per se, and for me it doesn’t take hugely to the white - but the white ends up blending perfectly with the light and peach/apricot tones. If I were to describe the colour, I’d personally call it a sandy/taupe blonde with a peach/apricot tone. I absolutely love it. My hair doesn’t feel dry afterwards and as I have fine hair in a bob, one box was plenty of dye, I didn’t need to use it all. For me this has been MUCH better than any box dye that is called permanent, which tends to be too strong and chemically for my fine hair. However, if you’re getting it expecting it to wash out, be ware that while it fades significantly over the washes, please be aware that your hair won’t go back to its original colour, because the dye does lift natural hair at least one or two shades.

Better than in the salon
Title: "Vibrant Hues That Stick Around" I recently tried L'oreal Casting Natural Gloss in 823 Latte Light Blonde , and I'm impressed! The application process was a breeze, and the color payoff exceeded my expectations. The shade was true to the box, providing a bold and vibrant result. What sets this product apart is its longevity. Unlike some semi-permanent colors that fade quickly, this one held up well over several weeks, maintaining its intensity. The formula also left my hair feeling surprisingly soft and conditioned, which is a definite plus. Also, everybody is asking me where did I have my hair done, and they don't believe it when I say it was done at home by me , that has no experience whatsoever. I have attached the before picture and after. Before I have bleached it at home and tried a pink colour in it, still have orange and yellow tones that no toner would get rid of them. This is the only colour I would use from now on. Also it lifts a bit of my natural colour at the root but not too much, just enough to blend it seamlessly.

Bit darker
Nice colour but came out much darker than the picture on dark blonde hair

Not the colour I ordered
The colour I ordered is BROWN CARAMEL 5.23 I went from the picture and shade guide which showed a pleasant light brown. This is now changed in name to light brown Hazel but with no sign of Brown Caramel but which is also called 5.25. It is exactly the same picture and the colour I wanted ...light brown !! My hair is a horrible flat plain dark brown now close to black with no life in it at all. I've used LOreal hair colour for 18 months now and it has been ok. This time it was a different texture when mixed. It’s normally liquid/creamy and easy to apply. This mixed to a semi solid slop like slimy porridge which slipped off the gloves and splashed and slopped everywhere. I left it on for 17 minutes and it stung my scalp - another new event. It has left my hair straight (it is normally curly), dry and lifeless like straw…and yes I did apply the conditioner included which is usually very good. And I repeat it is a horrible colour. Far too dark and a very flat shade …like a wig.....added 5 monthsl later I never posted the reveiw las August it seems. My hair is sill black with no sign of fading. It dryed my ahir out so that I darent colour it so amd half nousey turning grey with a black base ....can only think it was a horrible packaging mistake my hair is ruined.

swing and a miss
It provides good coverage, but it came out an alarmingly dull colour and really didn't do anything to revamp my hair.

Very happy
I bought this to cover 11 months of grey grow out, as I didn't want to use permanent dye. I am so impressed with the result; it covered all the grey really well, and has a nice natural look to it. The product has a nice smell, and the conditioning treatment smells really good too. I think I will continue to use this as it is much less damaging to the hair, and I prefer the colour result over permanent dye which can sometimes look a bit fake before it starts to fade.
