Mini Composite AV 3RCA CVBS to HDMI Video Audio Converter Box Adapter 720p 1080p Upscaler with USB Charge Cable for Laptop DVD VHS VCR PS2 Wii

This product was just what I needed to connect a Wii and Playstation 2 to our new TV that only had HDMI sockets. You need a spare HDMI cable to connect this little box to the TV, then just use the USB cable that's supplied with it to connect to a USB port nearby (I used the one on the games console) and attach the red, yellow and white cables to the magic box and that's it! The Playstation 2 worked correctly straight away. When I first switched on the Wii, the screen flickered but I'd read that changing the screen setting to 50Hz might help and as soon as I did that, all was fine. Of course, you won't get HD quality images but these retro consoles weren't designed for that. What this little magic adapter box will do though is let you enjoy all your favourite Wii and PS2 games on modern TVs that lack the scart and composite sockets that you used to need to connect them.

This little device is amazing! I was hooking up my PS2 to a 4K monitor using a PS2 to HDMI adapter. It worked perfectly for my PS2 games but I also use my PS2 to play original PS1 games but it couldn’t handle the low frame rate through the converter. Now I have a PS3 and while that does play PS1 games fine, it doesn’t recognise PS2 accessories even with an adapter, and I wanted to play dance mat games. The downside to this conveyer over the other is that this one I have to have an extra cable but that’s not the end of the world. I put the picture quality as 4 stars because I’m playing PS1 and 2 games, they’re not great to start with and I had to adjust my monitor settings otherwise it looked like a VCR tape but again, no big issue. A very decent price and with prime delivery, an amazing deal!

Great product, does exactly what it says on the tin. It does need a USB power source but this can be connected to the TV itself so no issues there and easy to do! Tested it with a game and the display is what you would expect from a ps2 game, does not affect display quality for that era of game. Very impressed with the product for the price, many thanks to the seller!

Unsurprisingly this does not lock on to my composite modded ZX81. The composite output from that is not a genuine video output (rather it is bit-banged from the ULA to something that broadly looks like a video signal to an old TV) so this device and any based on the same chipset and design (of which there are many) will not lock reliably. It's probably OK for old consoles and players with a real composite output but not of much use for the ZX81 for which this was purchased. Please note that as is typical with these converters they stretch a 4:3 source to fit a modern 16:9 TV. This might be an issue if you cannot correct for that on your monitor / TV.

Been using it to play ps2 on Hdmi TV. Quality is to expected with the type games of that era. I do fine 720p works best as 1080p get a slight lag. Works perfect for my needs

I used this on a Nintendo wii on a 4K LG tv. It’s easy to connect the 3 rca connectors to the device, then plug in the power to the USB on the back of the wii to power the adapter. The quality isn’t 1080p but the wii doesn’t deliver HD, so I’m happy enough with the picture quality.

...but then the audio pass through failed after about 5 minutes. Couldnt get it working again and returned it for a refund.

Ich habe mir diesen Adapter gekauft, weil ich den Nintendo Gamecube und die PlayStation 2 nicht mehr an meinem neuen Fernseher anschließen konnte (fehlende Cinch-Eingänge). Das Anschließen ist selbsterklärend und funktionierte auf Anhieb. Natürlich muss man durch das Upscaling leichte Nachteile in der Bildqualität in Kauf nehmen, aber das ist bei dem Preis-Leistungsverhältnis absolut in Ordnung und ist natürlich viel besser, als wenn man die Geräte gar nicht mehr verwenden kann. Definitiv eine Kaufempfehlung für alle, mit ähnlichen Problemen.

Affezionati ad una vecchia Wii siamo molto contenti di aver trovato questo mini device in grado di farla resuscitare e funzionare con un televisore nuovo sprovvisto di porte "vintage"...Facilissimo il montaggio, da un lato i 3 cavi rca, dall'altro il cavo hdmi e lateralmente il cavetto di alimentazione usb. Soddisfatti.
