Amazing protection and quality
I originally bought a cheaper pair and after one fall I injured my tailbone really bad it was so difficult to snowboard for 2 weeks ! sometimes buying something cheap can be a waste of money so I ended buying this and I believe it serve the purpose for what it cost! in terms of functionality as a beginner snowboarder I haven’t had any issues and my mobility is fine so it doesn’t interfere with performance and it fit great for me ( large size) ; it doesn’t weight a lot and yes it can be a little bulky so you may have to wear pants that are not extremely tight but let me tell you that you will be protected … I fell a couple more times and it didn’t hurt the way it hurt with the cheaper pair I bought before! I used them for a season and it hasn’t given me any tears ! functionally is great like I said but I find my self lifting and tightening it throughout the day to make sure they are in place!

Could be better though good enough already
* Overall, this protective hip short is a good product to protect me in falling for my downhill longboarding. * Usage: - I intended to use this as my hip protective short for my downhill longboarding for falling on my sides, tailbone, or hip in general. * Good: - Overall design has good coverage for tailbone and hip bone, my sides. - The short is very stretchable, has no scratch feel on my skin, and has very soft fabric and no allergic reaction from my skin (I have sensitive skin to other scratchy fabric or textures). - Tested two days in this 87F with 85% humidity. And, I have no overheateding feeling on my body (hip) and no sticky feeling of my heavy sweats around my entire hip. - General falling tests on my tailbone, hip in general, and both sides of my hip. It has good protection from impact - I did do heavy falling tests. * To-Improve: - The side pads on both sides of my hip are a bit thin. - For skating sports and my downhill longboarding, it is very common to fall on the sides of one's hip besides falling on the tailbone, I felt that they should make the pads on both sides to be at least 50% thicker to provide real falling protection to protect the trochanter bones. This is the reason that I did not give a 5-star rating to this product.

saved me from what could’ve been a season-ending fall
I bought this butt pad about three seasons ago and it’s been one of my better winter gear purchases. The design is great, the main area is a single, well-shaped piece that protects exactly where you need it. Durability has been impressive. After three seasons of use there’s still no visible damage to the pad itself. The only wear is that the Velcro has lost some grip, mostly because it collects lint when you run it through the dryer. Not a dealbreaker, just something to keep in mind. I’m writing this now because I had a nasty fall on an icy day walking to the lift. I still felt it — it definitely hurt — but without this pad it probably would have been a season-ending injury. Instead, I shook it off and kept riding.

Great quality
Great quality. Saved me from a bad bruise, because it covers the whole hip and butt

Soared Saved A$$!
I recently purchased three different pairs of protection shorts: Triple Eight Bumsaver 1, Triple Eight Bumsaver 2, and Soared Protection Shorts. After trying them all, I have to say that the Soared shorts stood out for their exceptional quality and superior padding. Today, I wore the Soared Protection Shorts for the first time while skating. While performing a topside stall to 180 in a 10-foot bowl, I landed hard on my bum. Thanks to the substantial padding in these shorts, I felt a significant amount of protection that cushioned the impact. In comparison to the Triple Eight Bumsaver 2, which has comparable quality, the Soared Protection Shorts offer much better-padded protection. This makes them an excellent choice for aggressive inline skaters who need reliable protection during high-impact tricks and falls. Overall, I highly recommend the Soared Protection Shorts. They provide outstanding protection, making them a worthy investment for anyone serious about skating safely and confidently.

GREAT PROTECTION IN ALL THE RIGHT PLACES
I got this to protect my hips and bones when riding on my ebike. I'm 64 years old and felt I needed the extra protection for my bones. The gear is easy to wear, very comfortable, and pads everything in the right place. I didn't experience any slipping or rising. I got a size small but there was plenty of room to move around. Has a Velcro opening in the front to make it easier to slip on and off. It gave me a little extra assurance on my bike riding confidence. After several hours of riding, it was still comfortable.

Cushion, not armor
These shorts are soft foam, not impact armor. I would not trust them to provide any real protection whatsoever. Just sitting on the foam compresses the material fully.
