Adjustable Lightweight Folding Quad Cane, Metallic Black

Edit: changing the rating to 5 stars after the rubber smell went away. Bought a second one. This is a great cane, and even though the base is a little large, it is - in my opinion - far more stable and superior as compared to a Hurrycane. Despite the size of the base, it easily fits down into the little niche between the seat of the car and the door. I have two of these now - one for the yard and one for inside. Recommended for those who need a stable, stand-alone cane. I wanted a quad cane to use in the back yard while taking care of my bird feeders and other small chores, and this cane will be perfect for that purpose. I took off one star because of the very strong rubber smell coming from the quad base. The cane is very stable, it works great in the yard on grass, stands up while I check and fill the bird feeders. The handle is comfortable. It was easy to assemble/adjust and comes apart for storage. An extra set of rubber tips are included, which is a bonus. However... it stinks like rubber. Hopefully that will go away after a while but in the meantime, I wouldn't want to take it out in public or in the car - at least until the smell goes away. Right now it's camped out on the screen porch ready to do its duty for bird feeder fills and yard chores. I'm happy with the cane and would recommend it to others (if the smell isn't a bother.

Did a little research in order to find a good sturdy cane for my mom, and was amazed at the price of this one. She was using a single tipped cane, but was annoyed because when she would lean it on something, inevitably, it would fall and make a bang, which would make me go running to check if everything was OK. So, not only is this cane convenient because it is free-standing when not in use, it offers her greater support and confidence when using it for walking. Also, she is short, but the cane adjusts down to an ergonomically correct position, even for her. While this cane is lightweight, it is very sturdy and seems like it will last a long time. My mom is quite pleased with this purchase, and my nerves rest a little easier now that it has become a member of our household.

Extremely stable and very well balanced and weighted. The height is easily adjusted. One of the really good features can also be a little bit of a problem. The design is such that the 4 feet are not symmetrical. The outside two feed extend further from the center of the can that do the inside feet. Where this is excellent is that you get a much more stable cane without the inside feet getting to close to your own feet to inhibit walking. This is really a big improvement over a symmetrical cane which can never be as stable. IT also gives more stability on the outside which is where it is usually needed as the inside has your own feet. There is not free lunch however and here is the drawback. You must set the can to operate on the left or the right. If you have it set for right hand use and you switch hands then the advantage becomes an impediment and the longer feet are getting very close to your own making entanglement too easy. For most people this is not a problem as they use the same hand all the time. However, when using it on uneven ground I used to switch hands for a few minutes, and I would ideally like to be able to use it both ways. I would have given it 5 stars but for this drawback. I have developed a workaround however so I can use it right or left handed. When I switch to the left had use, I grasp the handle BACKWARDS. The handle shape makes this only slightly uncomfortable and it is very workable for a few minutes. Then the asymmetric design advantage works on both sides. However it would be quite easy for the manufacturer to make the handle so it can rotate and lock in either of two positions for lefts handed use or right-handed in a way that can be adjusted in 5 seconds. The present method takes about 15. I would also prefer some choice of colors.

This is the only cane my husband loves. Its square soft rubber and not like some other Quad canes that hurt if they touch you . You can use it right or left side. See it's now not available & Amazon has nothing that compares to this cane. Wanted to buy an extra one to have on hand. Also it stays standing. Hope they get more in soon!!!
