So, first off, there is a video in the description of this item that really shows how to operate this gimbel for us first time users. It shows that there are 3 locks that need to be unlocked before you power on this guy. Once you have these unlocked add your phone in the sliding clamps and power it on. If you have the included tripod attached, have the gimbel setup on a table or the floor as you power it on.The whole thing comes to life and swivels into position. I'd recommend charging the gimbel before you first use it. There is a power cord included that is the suggested cord to use per the instructions.Let's talk about the instructions for a bit. This device comes from China and has several different languages in the instructions. English is the second section. If you are concerned about your data and all that jazz, then you should throughly read the information provided from the booklet and the app you can download before you continue using this device. Otherwise, proceed with caution.That being said, there is a learning curve to using this gimbel to it's full potential. Like I mentioned before this is my first gimbel and I struggled just figuring out how to unlock it. The instructions are full of information about the operations of the gimbel and after a couple attempts, you get the basics.There is also an app you can download. From what I've seen there are a lot of people that use this app and upload videos to it. Outside of that there is a creator area to start your own video collection.The gimbel is very smooth and is really nice to have if you are on a walking tour and you want steady video footage. If you are a vlogger, you'll enjoy having this guy as it has a few more features meant for vloggers than I expected. There is a face recognition system and it should be able to track your movements if I read that part correctly.Included in the box is the gimbel it's self, quick reference sheet and a full booklet of instructions that comes in 14 different languages. A small tripod that helps with stability if you have it on the ground or up on a table. A preferred charging cord and that's about it. This is great, on its own, but the website said the gimbal is sturdy enough to support accessories - and I assumed that would mean a microphone and snap on lighting. That was not the case.The gimbal could support my iPhone rig OR my Shure MV88+ microphone, but not both. And you have to attach the microphone to the iPhone rig in order to stabilize. It also could not hold the weight of one or two snap on lighting accessories.On its own, this is great for image stabilization and getting unique shots that you wouldn't otherwise. But, without the possibility of adding lighting or sound enhancers - it doesn't have a lot of purposes for me, in a live music setting.If you were shooting something where raw audio was fine and the lighting was already good - then this is great.
