Good little transformer.
Here is a photo of my transformer. It is a compact device with turn screws which allow removal of the covers to reveal the terminals. These covers do not have any holes and so cutouts have to be made. The device turns slightly warm, with no audible noise. Currently it powers my Underdome bell with no issues. I am happy with my purchase. The only remaining question is - how long will it last?

Works well and makes the dog bark!
Had the effect of making the dog bark! Oh you want a more detailed review ? Oh ok, When the button outside of the door ( circular flat white thing ) is pushed, the transformer then passes an electrical current to a device that makes an awful clanging sound (inside a circular black thing that often gets painted the same colour of the hallway walls but that colour flakes off because I have not prepared the metal for painting with a metal paint) then that noise makes the dog bark! Na forget all that, it makes the dog bark! No really honest right hand up and swear on the sweeties i'll get on Halloween, the transformer works well, honestly it does work better that the one it replaced (because it was broken and didn't make the dog bark)

Great Little Unit
Bought this some years after previous transformer went faulty and at the time I instead used batteries within the chime unit. Not being happy with this arrangement I came across this great little unit and connected it to the existing wiring. Very happy with this more satisfactory set up.

It makes Ring doorbells work
I have a Ring wired doorbell. My old transformer was unreliable and buzzing loudly. This was a direct replacement, easy to swap and is now working great.

It’s heating up and it stopped working a long time ago.
The item is fine and works ok. However it seems to be heating up. I placed my hand over it and it was very hot to touch. Any advice please. It has probably stopped working since I noticed the unit getting hot to touch. It must have blown since because it has not been charging the batteries. I'm buying another unit. 5/2020
