I couldn’t find anything that looked like it would work as well as this kit. The little plugs that drop down and keep gunk out of the cylinder work really well. I only used two of the brushes; the bundled brush that cleans the bottom of the bore and one bristle brush to clean the sides of the bore. I’ve now experienced three leaking injector seals on two different Mercedes om642 engines, and so far I haven’t needed to ream the bottom of the bore. The bundle brushes in this kit do a pretty decent job of abrading the bottom of the bore and I’ve been able to get a good seal without having to get more aggressive on the sealing surface.

Perfect for the OM 642 Mercedes diesel injector bores. The plugs fit perfectly, and Using some carb cleaner and the supplied bore brushes and seat cleaning brush I got them all clean and shiny. Vacuumed out the gook with a small shop vac adapted with a 1/4 inch tube, retrieved the plugs with the included threaded tool and I was ready to put in the new injectors. Great value for the money.

Pay attention to the diameter of the cutting head !
