Works well enough
First of all, the first item I got had a broken metal piece that you're supposed to push in. It was permanently stuck in. I returned it and got a replacement. The replacement seemed to be fine, but when I was assembling it didn't want to fit the last tube all the way. It got so stuck that I can't push it in further or pull it out. I needed to adjust this to its lowest setting when standing up vertically, but it has about a half inch gap where it won't push in all the way. But that isn't a big deal. The nuts on the bolts also don't want to stay tightened, and I have noticed it gets a little wobbly so I keep needing to tighten them. Also, the open area this provides could be a little wider. But overall it works well enough. I use a weighted blanket and it was messing up my ankles by pressing my feet sideways, and this holds the blanket up.

My feet/toes are so happy & pain free!
Sue here. As you can see by the attached pictures our little chihuahua loves this blanket lifter. This is what we found when we left the bedroom and returned 5 minutes later. I have been using a homemade lifter I crafted from Dollar Tree foam core board but it took a beating as I kicked it in the night or my husband said on the edge of the bed and crushed it so I decided to replace it with the real thing. I'm a frugal gal so I looked at every unit I could find and this one seem to be the most durable. I think I made a good choice. All of the necessary hardware was included (bolts and locking nuts) so all I needed to pull for my toolbox was a Philips head screwdriver and a socket driver to lightly tighten them after everything was assembled. It went together lickety split and fits at the foot of the mattress on my adjustable bed behind the bar that keeps the mattress from flying off when I adjust the bed. I just wish that it was a little wider and had some way of securing the blanket and sheet on top so that they don't slide down but I will have to find some way to do that myself. My mattress is a little thicker than standard size and I have the lifter adjusted to the lowest level with plenty of room for my size 8 feet. Since I have a lot of problems with internal temperature control due to the fibromyalgia I need to wear socks at night because with all that airspace my feet do get chilly. It's small price to pay to rid myself of painful toes from the blankets touching them. And as you can see our little dog is enjoying this as much as I am. This product is well made, easy to assemble, and has changed the way my feet feel.

I wish I had it years ago
I had no idea that the weight of the covers hanging off the end of my toes was hurting; it was just the way covers felt. I am delighted with my purchase. I wish I had bought it 10 years ago. Unless you already sleep with your feet uncovered or are very short sleeping in a large bed you will be more comfortable with a device like this. The big negative is that if you want to bed(room) to look pretty you will have to remove and store this device or any similar device during the day as part of making the bed.You will need a device to push in the buttons that adjust the height; pick taller rather than shorter as your first setting, so you won't kick the top portion of the device if you are a kicker.I cannot get the bolts to snug up againt the metal poles, so the device is wobbly, and I cannot figure out how to correct this, but once the covers are laid over, it stabilizes so that there is no movement or noise so I don't care. This is the reason for the 4-star rating. The metal poles that the device is made of are very thick; this is good, because yes, the cat likes to lay on the "hammock" created by the top and draped sides. If you have large feet the device will need to be raised quite high, which will lift the covers high enough to make an opening at the end of the bed. I draped a similarly colored cover over the end to make a snug house for my feet. (On the other hand, if your feet are always hot you will be relieved at the aeration.)

Easy to assemble
Exactly what I wanted. Easy to assemble. Minor scratches on the finish but as it will be under the covers that really doesn't matter.

Assembly unnecessarily difficult
Instructions were clear. In fact, no instructions were necessary. However, when the adjustment rods/tubes were manufactured, the burrs created when drilling the adjustment holes make it difficult to move the L- brackets to make height adjustments. The manufacturer should taken an extra step to remove the burrs inside the tube.

These are lightweight, yet well-made. My staff loves them!
I bought them for a project we are doing at our nursing home to prevent pressure injuries. These foot/bed cradles are well-made and not the least bit flimsy. Yet they are made smaller than a lot of the other ones I looked at. The staff really like them because they do the trick without being bulky or hard to handle.

It really helped me get much needed sleep after total knee replacement
I’m giving this a four star for working overall, but for sturdiness is not more than a 3. I was desperate for something to keep sheets and blankets off my new total knee replacement incision. This did the job, so I would definitely recommend it. Being able to adjust the height it key to this product. Easy to assemble. And easy to store after I’m done using it until my next knee. It’s wobbly though and the screws do not fit as tight as they should but it served it’s purpose. Manufacturer needs to figure out how to make this sturdier. You’ll need to adjust Sheets And blankets to go over It completely to stay in place. To keep the cold out if your surgery is in colder months like mine. I used a lighter blanket to hang well over the side of this to block the cold air. It fits well under the mattress. I was able to sleep at night with a pillow between my leg and have plenty of room under this. It really helped me to get some much needed sleep.
