Academy Award-winning animated comedy by Walt Disney Studios featuring the voice talents of Scott Adsit and Ryan Potter. 14-year-old robotics genius Hiro Hamada (Potter) spends his days being a typical teenager, getting into fights and struggling to cope with his changing body. When his older brother Tadashi (Daniel Henney) becomes concerned that his brother is wasting his potential, he takes him to the robotics lab at his university where he introduces him to Baymax (Adsit), an inflatable robot created and developed by Tadashi himself. Programmed to take care of humans, Baymax starts to work with Hiro and encourages him to focus on his invention of microbots. When Hiro and Baymax discover that someone has been copying his ideas and creating microbots of their own, the pair team up to find the masked assailant. The film won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Review: Big Hero 6 - For Big Hero 6 Disney ditches the cutesy princess stories in favour of something more action orientated and it pays off in spades. Hiro is boy genius. He knows everything about tech, especially robots. He invents micro bots which can be controlled by your mind, however these fall into the wrong hands so it is up to him and his med bot Baymax to save the day. The story is great and pacey from start to finish. Its an emotional rollercoaster and has some great action beats. The relationship between Hiro and Baymax is superb and beautifully told. The film is loosely based on a Marvel comic but it is refreshing to see that this doesn't follow the same formula as its live action cousins. In fact here the villain of the piece is more interesting and has his own emotional twist to the story. The action is great fun and the growth of these characters makes it even more interesting and of course the animation is top notch. Fransokyo is a neon drenched not too distant future and looks amazing. Big Hero 6 is a delight from start to finish and is a huge amount of fun. Best of all there are no soppy songs to drag it down! Review: Full of humour and heart - another winner from Disney - Hiro is a 14-year-old tech genius who loses his older brother Tadashi in a fire at the San Fransokyo University science fair. Soon after, a masked individual appears using Hiro's miniature robot invention (also presumed lost in the fire) and Hiro, along with a group of Tadashi's fellow students and the robot Baymax, set out to catch the thief and save the city. Based on a fairly obscure Marvel comic, Big Hero 6 continues Disney's impressive return to form after a difficult decade in the 'Noughties when they seemed to have lost their touch. The undoubted star of the film is the loveable robot Baymax, a truly adorable and inspired character who provides much of the humour in this fast-paced adventure. The animation is dazzling and the script sharp, with plenty to amuse adults as well as children. And there's that special ingredient that separates Disney and stablemates Pixar from the rest of the animated herd - heart; the climax is particularly emotional and I'm not ashamed to say I had a tear in my eye. Fantastic fun for all ages, Big Hero 6 continues the House of Mouse's winning streak that began with Tangled in 2010. Highly recommended.

Good honest fun
After a slightly clunky start, Big Hero 6 won me over, proving to be a vibrant, good looking, family friendly, funny slice of animation. The main hero of the piece is erm Hiro, a young lad from the futuristic city of San Fransokyo - basically San Francisco with a cool oriental twist (but you probably figured that out). He forms an unlikely bond with an inflatable medical droid (Baymax) created by his big bro. It takes a bit of time to set the scene before Baymax rocks up and improves the film in almost every way. It eventually becomes something of a super hero flick with all the usual ingredients - a tragic hero, a tragic villain, a superhero team with a variety of powers - it's all here and it's based on a Marvel comic book no less. It all looks glorious, there's plenty of action to fire things up, sympathetic characters you can root for, a good ratio of funny gags and of course a few life lessons thrown in. The Marvel tradition of end credits sequences continues here so stick around until the ride has come to a complete stop. Overall, heartily recommended.

I am happy with my care!
Can honestly say I found this to be one of the best modern Disney films. This is about the special bond that develops between Baymax, a plus-sized inflatable robot, and prodigy Hiro Hamada. When a devastating event befalls the city of San Fransokyo and catapults Hiro into the midst of danger, he turns to Baymax and his close friends adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago, neatnik Wasabi, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred. Determined to uncover the mystery, Hiro transforms his friends into a band of high-tech heroes called "Big Hero 6." This film does a brilliant job like only Disney can of making you feel emotion towards the robot Baymax. The story is great and keeps your full intention for the whole film. Story wise and visually this feels a bit different from Disney films previously but that is a good thing. All I can say is if you are after a good family film then look no further than this.

Hello, I am Baymax, your personal healthcare companion
What can I really add about this film that hasn't already been said? It is a wonderful CGI romp through the story of a young boy growing and making sense of the world even if it its a future far from our own experience at times. You'll both laugh and cry as the film takes you through the main character's (Hiro's) feelings of youthful exuberance followed by loss, anger, betrayal and eventually the self realisation that he's the better for it all. Trying to do this without spoilers I can only say it will both sadden you at times and warm your heart when you see the relationship of Hiro and his family and friends. If you purchase only one movie that is fun for all the family this year I'd recommend you consider this one
