Great lustre and finish - cures quickly
Great product - achieved a beautiful result on my wooden kitchen worktop. I turned to this after being failed by other brands . This is waterproof and avoids those temporary cloudy markings created by some varnishes when a damp object is layed on the surface. It cures quickly too allowing you to use your work surfaces sooner than any other acrylic varnish I hace tried.

A change of name and packaging - same brilliant product.
October 2025 The packaging has changed, the name altered but the product is the same. Simple to use, keeps wood looking like wood. Easy apply and easy to clean your brush/roller. Not only was it cheaper ~ it was next day delivery. The local main dealer for this brand only had a half litre container They had no deliveries expected as the other types were still in stock Another dealer could get it to order Åmazon delivered for less the next day This is an excellent product if you don't want to colour your plywood It goes on easily with a little Mohair roller Doesn't need brushing out Dries quickly Doesn't even look like you've done anything to the plywood. If you want a totally natural wood look, Polyvine Dead Flat Interior Wood Varnish is brilliant

Excellent varnish.
I love this varnish. My husband had carved a Dougal as a gift. I painted the face with acrylic paint and we left the body plain wood. So I needed a varnish to seal the paint and protect the wood. This worked brilliantly. It’s easy to apply…I used a brush and sponge for different areas. It flows out lovely and dried really quickly…about 30 minutes. I applied 3 coats across a couple of days but could have got it done quicker. I got a lovely tactile gloss finish. I’d definitely use this for other projects. It goes a long way so quite economical.

Non smelly varnish
I bought this to varnish over some handcrafted coasters. I am hoping that they are heat proof. Nice small jar because you don't need to use much.

Odourless and pleasure to work with
Sprayed on 2 and 3 layers of this to a table I had renovated: 2 coats on the painted legs and 3 coats was needed on the top as the wood was bare and more porous. Goes on white and dried clear and like a soft satin finish, (not Matt and not too shiny, in between) in two hours outside in the sun between coats. Non smelly and very easy to work with in my spray gun. I found washing tools with just water was all that was needed. Will buy again.

Brilliant stuff!
After painting my kitchen cupboards with Johnstone's cupboard paint, it started to get scratched away (behind frequently used handles etc), exposing the original wood 😩 this was incredibly frustrating as I had spent so long painting them and they looked so good at first! Fast forward 6 months or so and I'd had enough, and decided to protect them. I touched up the exposed areas with the dribble of cupboard paint I had left and went at it with this stuff the following day. On the advice of someone else who had worked with this, I used a roller (designed for varnish), but didn't connect it to the handle bit. I used my hands and just pulled it up and down the cupboard doors in one go (not in a rolling motion). If you do choose to use this method, wear gloves!!! I cannot stress this enough! It seems obvious but was only obvious to me after the first coat... Anyway, 3 coats later and my only regret is that I didn't use it straight away after painting my cupboards. It would have saved me a lot of grief and touch ups! Also, my one year old has just scribbled on the cupboards with a pencil and it's fine! I just scrubbed it with a wet scourer and the mark disappeared (but the paint and child didn't) 😃 Can't rate this highly enough! Seriously recommend!!!!! 5⭐️

My go to varnish for Decoupage
I've tried other varnishes, and although Polyvine is expensive, a little goes a long way and it goes on smoothly and dries quickly. It's heatproof, food safe and water proof too. Highly recommended for anyone that Decoupages
