Great dethatcher for the price
It’s lightweight, easy to set up, and performs beautifully, efficiently removing thatch and leaving my grass looking healthier. It is recommended to remove the bag attachment as it is too small. After use of the dethatcher, I would mow with a bag for cleanup.Highly important is use the correct AWG wire. If the gauge is typical 16 you will not be able to operate at full power and can have issues. I used 14 AWG without any issue.

Wow! Awsome dethatcher.
First, buy a good quality 12 gauge extension cord. My yard is pretty big and thankfully I have a 100 foot long 12 gauge extension cord. Do not use a standard outdoor extension cord since most of these are only 14 gauge. Another recommendation is to use a dedicated 20 amp outlet. If you use a 15 amp outlet, make sure that nothing else on that circuit is using electricity. I noticed a difference in the sound of the motor when I was plugged into a 20 amp outlet on its own circuit breaker verses another outlet that is on a 15 amp breaker that is shared by other outlets in the house. Now for the de-thatching. I used the scarifier blade for my front yard because it hasn't been detached in years. This machine pulled up piles of thatch while also digging a bit into the soil, which later allowed me to more efficiently seed and fertilize. I filled five large contractor bags with thatch. When I cut the grass with the grass catcher on, I barely fill half a contractor bag. As other reviewers mentioned, the catching bag is much too small; it tends to quickly fill up. I pretty much ignored the catcher and let the thatch overflow, then I followed up with a rake. I still had to stop and empty the catcher, but that really wasn't a big deal. If I had rented a de-thatcher, I would have had to rake anyway and go through the hassle of picking it up, using it and returning it. For the price, I figure I only need to use this machine three times and I will have saved money. I switched to the de-thatching attachment for my back yard. It did a decent job without digging down into the soil. I'll probably use the scarifier the next time to pull up more thatch. Another nice thing is NO EXHAUST FUMES!!!! Yes, handling the extension cord was a bit of a hassle, but once you figure out how to swing it out of the way, it's not a big deal. Just be careful you don't run over the extension cord. Aside from destroying the (expensive) cord, you may get a dangerous and bad electric shock. It's a good machine and did a much better job than the gasoline powered de-thatchers I have rented in the past. It is well worth the investment. It's relatively light weight, folds up and can be stored on a shelf, under a table or some other dry place that is out of the way.

Works very well but battery life could be better
Pros: Really does a great job of dethatching! Has enough power to tear out the thatch without a problem. Very lightweight and easy to use.Cons: I have the battery operated model and I really wish they would have included the larger batteries with it. I was only getting about 12min of run time before I had to recharge them, which was kind of annoying. The bag is also way too small. I tried using it but had to empty it about every 30 seconds.Overall I give it a thumbs up. It got the job done without too much hassle. Great little machine for the price.

This thing really works!
I purchased this to use as a de-thatcher and it was awesome. I mean it really did a good job. It was easy to assemble, easy to turn on and very easy to push. I did not use the bagger because of other reviews that I had looked at. This was money well spent. Its a very good product.

Great addition to my lawn care routine
Easy to assemble and works great. I like that it is lightweight and easy to maneuver. While dethatching the blade can get tangled up so keep an eye on that. All around very happy with this purchase.

Excellent addition for your lawn!
I read a lot of reviews before landing on trying this machine. After it's first use I can confirm that it's earned it's keep. It's lightweight, powerful and gets the job done. Like other reviews mention, the bag is somewhat pointless because of the large amount of thatch it's bringing up. The cord getting in the way has also been a pain point for me but I'll continue to work through that. Highly recommend this little workhorse!

Bag is way too small but its a solid unit
Just take the bag and throw it away. Not only is it way too small but as much as this thing dethatches you'll be emptying the bag every 40ft. It requires both batteries in order to operate, so just realize you can't have one on the charger while you're operating, you'd have to buy another two spare batteries. It does eat thru batteries pretty quick too. If I had to guess you could probably go about 600-700ft before the batteries are slowing down, maybe another 300-400 before they're dead. That all said I still like it and it definitely works. Its nice that it comes with two attachments, a dethatcher rake and a scarifier blade. It has depth settings too, I run mine halfway. It folds up nice and it takes about 10 minutes to assemble. Even comes with an allen key and a storage slot so you don't have to search for tools when its time to switch the blades. I like it.

Great, BUT........Not ideal for larger lawns.
Firstly, the unit is more powerful than expected and does an amazing job.My only gripe is that it overheated several times while using it. We have a little over a half acre and my original plan was to dethatch first and collect and bag everything afterwards. After needing to stop several times due to overheating, I eventually began to dethatch much smaller sections (roughly 3,000 - 4,000 sqft) and collecting and bagging while allowing the unit to cool. This worked out fine because I was working alone and needed to bag anyway but if I was working with a partner and we planned to run both processes in parallel, it wouldn't work out so well.Other than that, I absolutely love the power-to-weight ratio. It's incredibly light to maneuver but packs a punch.

100% Recomendable

Does a really good job
First time using this dethatcher, was very unsure since there was really no product reviews on YouTube, took a chance on it since the price is very fair compared to other options, no sugar coating this thing rips up the thatch, pulls you along doesn’t get caught up, very easy to use, very happy with my purchase.

Wen scarifier
It was easy to put together and operate. Better than expected because of the light weight but made deep scars into the lawn allowing for better penetration of fertilizer applied afterwards

WEN Scarifier- Powerful little unit. Does its job
Received the product on time. Put together and in use the next dayEasy to assemble 5 starsPower for the size of the unit 5 starsYour lawn does have to be fairly smooth for it not to get caught up. I unfortunately have clumps of crabgrass that the front kept getting caught on and that is after mowing the lawn to 1 1/2 inch heightUnit pulled up a lot of moss and thatch on the lowest settingI did not use the bag as other have said it’s too small so kept that off and then ran over the lawn with my bagged mower to pick up the debris. Emptied the lawn mower bag about 6 times Only improvement I would like to see is a higher front edge so it does not get caught up as muchOver all I would recommend as long as it lasts
