Q: Is it possible to produce pressure/lift as with some support that have triggars

The pressure it done by turning the pole the pads have left and right hand threads which increases or decrease the length of the pole

Q: Are these weather proof if used outside or will they rust?

They are not really designed to be left outside but occasional use should not be a problem. But they do have steel parts that would rust..
