The case seems to stop the Bluetooth signal from being received. It does connect if I open the front cover. Any suggestions gratefully received??

I have a couple old iPads that I've converted into Dakboard displays in my office and in the kitchen. With little kids in the house I wanted a secure way to mount these iPads to prevent curious hands from prying them out to play with. There are more expensive wall mount enclosures out there but this one is perfect for my needs. It fits the iPads nicely with the spacers and keeps them mounted sturdily. I recently got a 2nd old iPad for my office wall and have ordered this product again. One minor complaint is that the spacers are a bit tricky to stay in place in the enclosure while inserting the iPad. On the first enclosure I bought I used a bit of glue to hold the spacers in place. On the 2nd enclosure I'll probably use double-stick tape. The other issue I have is that the hinge doesn't open properly when the enclosure is screwed flush to the wall. In order to give it enough room to swing open I glued a piece of laminate board to the back of the enclosure before I screwed it to the wall. Just a 1/4" laminate is all that it needs to put enough space between the wall and the enclosure so that the hinge opens up enough to swing open all the way.

This has a surprising amount of weight to it, the fit and finish are top notch as well. It’s a bit cumbersome to load the iPad into the case and hold the spacers in place, but once it’s done the well-made spacers hold everything rock solid. I did away with the home button cover as I could never really get it to sit right. We used this to mount an old iPad 2 in our residence to act as a security cam monitor/ audio entertainment hub and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Sturdy lock keeps little hands from poaching it. Some tips/tricks on installation: - if you’re using an iPad with the old style wide connector be sure you install the cord BEFORE screwing it to the wall. The cable slot is too narrow to pass even the USB end through. - when installing the spacers, insert the 2 top ones and use slight pressure on the tablet at an angle to keep them in place. Install one bottom spacer on the inside rim and place the 4th spacer against the tablet (still held at an angle) then gradually work it into place. Reach through the frame and hold the tablet in place as you close the door. I installed ours in a landscape orientation (horizontal) so fighting with the door wasn’t as much of a problem. As others have stated, the cover doesn’t open all the way. -You’ll lose the ability to control power and volume via the side and top buttons. No matter. Enable the time out feature in the settings and swipe up to use on-screen volume controls.
