Another nail-biting tale
I am thinking of giving up reading about Chet and Bernie. I can't bear any harm to animals and when Chet gets into trouble I get very stressed! Stupid I know, as he manages always to get out of trouble usually having to save Bernie's skin in the process. These books are so well written in terms of humour, plot, characterization. I do find the violence a bit too much (for me) at times.

4 1/2 Stars -- Chet And Bernie Are Da Men!
To Fetch A Thief is the third book by Spencer Quinn in a mystery series featuring Chet and Bernie, who are partners in The Little Detective Agency. What makes this book (as well as the series to-date) a lot of fun and uniquely enjoyable is that the detective, Chet the Jet, the narrator in the book, is a very lovable and wise dog. He's in charge of security in the partnership, and Bernie, his human partner (and owner but don't tell Chet that) is the planner and chief decision maker. In To Fetch A Thief, Chet and Bernie are hired to investigate the disappearance of two featured attractions from a small-time traveling circus -- an elephant and its trainer. If you are a dog lover (primarily), as I am, and a mystery fan (more secondarily), I think you'll be a big fan of this book and especially of Chet. In this book (and in the two others in this series) it's really Chet -- moreso than the case the team is hired to investigate, which is entertaining albeit pretty predictable -- that drives my strong interest in the book and makes it hard for me to tear myself away from reading it. Chet, with his doggy ways and his endearingly hard-boiled voice, is full of heart, occasionally prone to mischief and intensely loyal to Bernie. Bernie is also a very likable guy, though flawed in his "human" ways that Chet at times finds difficult to understand. As I've done three times now, I'll be looking forward to trailing along with Chet and Bernie on their next case.

Yet another lovely easy read staring Chet
Yet another lovely easy read staring Chet, the canine half of the detective agency with his human boss Bernie. Look - Chet usually comes up with with truth before the humans, but of course whilst he can tell you, the reader, he can't tell Bernie. As usual, all works out in the end. Again.

A thoroughly good read!
Another excellent chronicle from Chet on solving a crime with Bernie. Told from the dogs point of view, this time involving a kidnapped elephant. Would highly recommend!

Just fabulous
Chet is at his very best. The bad guys get their comeuppance and the good guy gets the girl. Oh and chet finds the elephant so happy endings all round and a total hoot all the way through.

Another winner
The special relationship between one man and his dog is electric. Chet is the dog who knows so much. Great tale.
