Twelve South 12-1233 BookBook for iPhone 5/5S/SE - Black

I ended up buying two of these. The first (the black one) was of very poor quality. The plastic camera hole surround barely fitted into the leather and on other parts of the case some of the leather had been rubbed or scraped off. I returned it and decided to buy another one.The second (the brown one) was decently built although still nothing like the quality shown in the product shots on Amazon and Twelve South's own sites. I used it for a few days but had a couple of problems.The first problem was with the camera. I like to use the volume buttons as a shutter release as it jolts the phone less than clicking on the screen. Unfortunately to do this you have to hold the front of the cover up otherwise it will cover the lens. This seems like a design trade off to have the case open in an intuitive direction but it was one I couldn't live with.The second problem was that when making calls with the back folded over the noise cancelling mic is covered. This, according to callers, made my voice very faint and indistinguishable. This is a design flaw that should not have been overlooked and was my main reason for returning it. Which is a shame as I really wanted to like this case.

I was initially so excited about this product as it really looked very good quality. However, after almost a year, it got completely destroyed: the back support is broken, the colour on the back faded away, the leather got torn on the edges, and the stitches fell apart. The ageing does not fit into this product as the manufacturer claims. If you think that £50 is equivalent of a year, then go for it. Otherwise, I would simply recommend you buying 5 cheap leather cases with the same price.

This looks good but quality is poor. This is my second one and both have split within 6 months

Not the best quality, the plastic that holds the phone in place is glued to the cover which means after a while it peels away from the case. The plastic also has a material glued to it around the edges and if you are a frequent phone uses this ages very quickly and starts to peel off.

By far the most useful case I have. Replaces two items, wallet and phone case. It protects the phone really well. Quality build - survives my rough treatment. Finally has a hole for the camera and flash. Highly recommended

This case is a quality case and actually looks good in a antique sort of way. If you can spare the cash for such an expensive mobile go for it.

Premetto che è il secondo prodotto di questa marca che compro e che avevo abbandonato per passare a uno della pad&quill, difficilmente però reperibile in Italia e di costo superiore. La precedente versione Bookbook era scomoda e sopratutto non consentiva l'uso della fotocamera. Avendo cambiato telefono ho deciso di prendere questa versione bookbook proprio perchè aveva lo spazio grande per la fotocamera, che consente foto senza ombre. Tuttavia sono un pò deluso. Nulla da dire sul design, davvero bello. Nemmeno la possibilità di accesso e uso della videocamera poteva essere migliore. Buono l'accesso alle funzioni, ma.... non la ricomprerei e non la consiglio. In primo luogo sento la mancanza di un sistema di chiusura ( magnetico o con elastico stile taccuino) senza la quale il BookBooktende ad aprirsi in caduta, facendolo cadere aperto con, ahimè, punto di impatto proprio sul vetro, e quindi vanificando la costosa protezione. Ma la cosa che mi ha davvero irritato è che il secondo slot per carta di credito è troppo profondo e la carta rimane spinta in giù e scompare tragicamente alla vista inghiottita dalla profonda fenditura. Tirarla fuori, in un momento in cui ne avevo assoluto bisogno, è stato ridicolmente difficile. Impossibile infilarci le dita e tirandola su si incastrava sul lembo della cornice in pelle, che a furia di tirarla- dovevo pagare alla cassa di un negozio- si è rotta. Questo il giorno dopo averla ricevuta. Per un prodotto di ben 59 euro, pensato proprio per quelli come me che in un unico accessorio vogliono portare appresso carte e telefono, una profonda delusione....

Das BookBook für das 4er iPhone war der Hingucker überhaupt. Ich hatte kein Portmonaie mehr dabei und fast jeder hat mich auf das gute Stück angesprochen.Also wollte ich ein BookBook für mein 5S haben. Ich traue ja nicht immer den Rezensionen, daher habe ich mir trotz der vielen negativen Aussagen ein BookBook für das 5S bestellt. Und was soll ich sagen? Ihr hattet Recht! Im Vergleich zum 4er, wo der Einschieber aus schönem Leder war, ist nur noch Plastik. Das gesamte BookBook ist nicht mehr weich und geschmeidig. Schade. Falls es irgendwann mal wieder ein BookBook in ursprünglicher Form gibt, dann bin ich sicher mit einer der Ersten, der sich das dann zulegt. Aber so einen Plastik-Kram will ich nicht. Es ist nicht mehr das Gleiche.Schade...

zum Glück wurde ich ja schon von meinen Vorsprechern vorgewarnt.Trotzdem was da ankam, auf das war ich nicht vorbereitet. Entäuschend ist noch milde ausgedrückt.Ich hab für mein iphone 4 die BookBook Hülle gehabt und war super Glücklich und zufrieden. Deshalb auch mein Gedanke jetzt für das 5er iphone vom selben Hersteller erneut zubestellen.Allerdings habe ich nicht mit so viel Plastik und schlechter und damit meine ich, RICHTIG schlechter Qualität erwartet.Schlechte Naht und wie gesagt Plastik was vorher mal schönes Leder war. Nicht mit mir, und nicht für diesen Preis.Ich habe sowohl die Hülle in dieser Farbe wie in dem hellen braun bestellt um zu sehen wie die Farben wirken und wie die Qualität ist.Zur Qualität nimmt sich nicht: beides grottenschlecht verarbeitet.Zur Farbe... okay das hier ist schwarz... naja...Eingepakt und zurück geschickt.... .Liebes Bookbook Team: hinsetzten Note 6, nochmal neu machen wie bei der Hülle für das iPhone 4. Das war wenigstens toll und da bin ich auch gern bereit etwas mehr Geld auf den Tisch zulegen. Aber nicht für so nen Plastikmist wie hier.

The wallet doesn't fit Canadian currency, which is due to the size of the iPhone rather than the case but needs to be mentioned. The storage is tight but will surely pack out with use, therefore I currently have some difficulty retrieving my cards. I was surprised to find the most pleasant aspect of this item is the rugged smell of the leather.

Bereits mit meinem iPhone 5 habe ich dieses Modell genutzt.Aufgrund der Tatsache, dass ich das iPhone täglich aus der Hülle genommen habe, um es im KFZ-Holder zu platzieren, musste die Hülle so einiges mitmachen.Mit dem 5s gabs nun auch eine neue Hülle, mit der ich bisweilen genauso zufrieden war.Ich kenne keine bewegliche Hülle, die den alltäglichen Anforderungen jahrelang ohne Spuren stand hält.Wohl aber kommt diese Schutzhülle doch sehr nahe.Für mich der hohe Preis somit gerechtfertigt.

In dieser Version der Hüllen für das iPhone 5 ist endlich auch beim BookBook ein Ausschnitt für die Kamera des iPhone vorhanden. Alle Anschlüsse sind gut zugänglich, das Gerät wird perfekt geschützt. Innentaschen für Visitenkarten, Personalausweis usw. bieten ein nettes Extra.Wunderschönes hochwertiges Leder in bester Verarbeitung rechtfertigen auch den Preis.Für jeden, der Den Wert von gutem Handwerk und High-Tech schätzt ist dies die ideale ästhetische Ergänzung zum iPhone.

Manchmal sprechen Bilder Bände, hier jedoch leider nicht. Mir gefiel das Handycase optisch sehr gut. Es hat einen nostalgischen Stil und hat mich direkt angesprochen. Qualitativ ist es aber eher schlecht. Ich meine, es kann sein, dass ich einfach kein Glück hatte und die restlichen Cases alle besser verarbeitet sind. Meines jedoch wies schlechtes Leder, kein ordentlicher Verschluss, Verarbeitungsmängel am Kamerabereich und Mängel an der Innenseite des Plastik-Iphone-Halters auf, wenn man das so nennen darf. Daher habe ich das Produkt zurückgeschickt. Hier ein großes Lob an den Verkäufer. Ohne großen Aufwand war das Geld innerhalb weniger Tage zurück auf meinem Konto. Verkäufer -> gut , Produkt -> doof! ;)

Vornweg, ich bin froh das ich das Ding nun habe!Habe mir lange überlegt, ob ich mir die BookBook Hülle bestellen soll oder nicht, da der Preis ja doch ordentlich ist. Vorher habe ich mir 2 andere Lederhüllen bestellt, und beide wieder zurück geschickt, da entweder der Deckel aufstand, oder die Karten sehr schwer rein und raus gingen. Einen Magnetverschluss wollte ich nicht.Schlussendlich habe ich mir dann doch von Twelve South die BookBook Hülle schicken lassen. Was soll ich sagen, ich bin begeistert von dem Case. Die negativen Rezessionen kann ich nicht bestätigen. Über die Haltbarkeit will ich mich noch nicht äußern, da ich die Hülle erst ca. 2 Wochen im Einsatz habe.

ich hatte erst gedacht-ach die Bewertungen werden schon nicht stimmen, hatte ja die Hülle auch für mein iphone 4 und sie ist immer noch top in Schuss….Irrtum, nach nur kurzer Benutzung geht diese teure Hülle überall kaputt-alle Nähte reissen jetzt nach und nach ein bzw. lösen sich einfach auf, das Kameraloch löst sich ab…Fazit das Leder ist viel zu starr und extrem mangelhaft verarbeitet…sehr sehr enttäuschend im Vergleich zu der alten Hülle vom iphone 4 bzw. vom ipad 3

für mein IPhone 4 hatte ich mir auch schon ein BookBook geholt und war bist zum Schluss sehr zufrieden. Oft bin ich daraufhin angesprochen worden und habe es immer mit gutem Gewissen weiterempfohlen. Obwohl man das iphone zu Photographieren immer aus der Hülle rausnehmen musste.Umso erfreuter war ich, als ich feststellte, dass das BookBook für mein neues iphone 5 ein Aussparung für die Kamera hatte.Nach einem Jahr Benutzung ist leider das BookBook an der Kameraausparung eingerissen.Ist vielleicht noch nicht ausgereift.

La cover è molto bella, direi unica, non c'è cover dello stesso tipo che sia della stessa qualità, l'unica pecca è che dopo 1 mese di utilizzo il dorso diventa bianco (e in alcuni punti rimane nero), quindi non so che colorante o coloranti abbiano usato ma per il costo di questa cover direi che dovevano preoccuparsi anche di una buona e un po' più durevole colorazione

Loved the look of it but after three months the spine is faded almost completely and the interior fabric is ripping off. I bought this one for $50 and I bought one for $12 from another company and the cheap one still looks great!

Vor allem die Klebereste an der iPhone Halterung und an der Kamaraausparung stören mich doch ziemlich.Da war ich bisher bessere Qualität gewohnt.Dafür sind durch den neuen Halterahmen die Probleme beim Telefonieren Geschichte. Mit der Lederbefestigung beimVorgängermodell gab es beim Telefonieren das Problem, dass der Sensor das Display nicht zuverlässig abgeschaltethat und es dadurch ein Eigenleben entwickelt hatte.Ich habe mir aufgrund der schlechteren Qualität lange überlegt, ob ich das Teil überhaupt behalten soll..Mangels Alternativen auf dem Markt (Modelle anderer Hersteller mit den gleichen Features sind noch größer oder dicker)habe ich es jezt aber doch behalten.

è la 3 volta che compro questa tipologia di custodia, 2 per iphone 4s e adesso questo, anche questa volta tutto è andato perfettamente, la custodia è di ottima fattura anche se dopo quasi 3 mesi dall'acquisto si sta scollando in qualche zona, pazienza

Die Preis/Leistung dieses Art. stimmt vor und hinten nicht.Ich hatte zuvor das BookBook für das iPhone 4S, das war okay, wobei auch hier die Lederfarbe schon nach wenigen Tagen abgingt. Bei diesem Nachfolger wurde nicht nachgebessert, was Finish betrifft. Es gibt mittlerweile andere Produkte von anderen Herstellern, die nur ein Drittel kosten und qualitativ besser sind.
