Takes a bit of time getting it set up and learning how it works, but wow, totally worth it
Where to start with this? So, it takes a bit of time to figure out the best use cases and how to make it do what you want it to do, but it is an absolute game changer when you get it figured out and dialled in.I work from home and spend a lot of time in Teams/Zooms calls and a lot of that is for presentations and training - I'm honestly wondering how I managed before I got this thing and that's before I take into account the XLR input, which honestly makes it worth it on its own.My initial experience with it was a bit of a mixed bag. It's easy to add to your PC out of the box, and the Stream Deck store is super helpful and useful.Like all new things you have to figure them out and I didn't find it enormously intuitive, but once you get over the initial teething issues this thing (and its big brother the XL) is a beast.Using it is a positive experience, the buttons have a great feel to them, the swipe panel is handy and the multi-function knobs are great - they feel awesome, and their ability to both turn and be pressed for functions like muting or switching inputs is fantastic, especially if you need to change audio feeds on the fly.Now lets talk about the clever bit - I use a Shure XLR mike and I've experimented with a couple of different phantom power solutions, but they took up a ton of space and honestly the results were a bit hit and miss - and you can see that my desktop is a pretty crowded place.Pop the XLR dock into the back and suddenly not only have a freed up a bit of real estate but, and this is the good bit, it just works... (once you've updated to the latest version of the app).Need to adjust your mic gain - add a gain control to any of the open dials, need to mute yourself - assign a button or a dial.

Do you NEED knobs?
The very first question you need to ask yourself is... Do you NEED to have analogue knobs?I only say this because there is seemingly no way to program the knobs to do any function other than the very basic light control, zoom control, volume control.Even out of the box it only does basic audio system level control and you need plugins to control other app volume and I can't even find a plugin to do Microphone volume. If you have an Elgato light like the key light air, mini or key light then this is 100% worth it to turn it off and on whenever and change the brightness and temperature.Though you can adjust these using buttons on the normal streamdeck.I found that for me, it's worth it to quickly adjust volume in Discord, zoom and teams call while also controlling my light on the fly for recording. The rest of the functionality is brilliant, it's your usual very well made, easy to use and set up streamdeck. The buttons are satisfying, the product feels sturdy and the productivity is amazing. You can absolutely spent DAYS configuring this to do all manner of things.I just wish I could make the screen and knobs do something when they are not in use, or put placeholders there as the buttons can be pressed in. So I wish I could use them as normal streamdeck buttons too. It's not well advertised but the screen above the knobs is also a basic swipe touch screen so you end up saving buttons by removing the "Next page" and "Previous Page" buttons allowing you to put more controls up top.If you don't need the knobs stick with the normal Mk2, Mini or XL.
