Sibilance cured by 2M blue
Bought this because I was suffering sibilance symptoms using the Pick It Pro stylus that came with the Project turntable I recently purchased. It occurred in around 5-10% of the records I was playing, lots of hissing on vocals. Loved new turntable apart from this. 2M blue swaps without problem with my original and cured the problem 100%. Fantastic sound quality and good value.

Excellent value upgrade
Leaps and bounds better than the mm evo stylus. Fits on the original cartridge body, stupidly simple to change. Much more involved, greater depth and clarity, definition of individual instruments and voices, wider soundstage which sounds like the number of musicians has doubled without any compromise in quality, not a hint of sibillance and deeper bass with much better musicality.

Great upgrade from the 2M red!
I've been using a 2M red on the recommendation of a friend with my Technics SL1210 for a couple of years now, and it's been great - however, it was time for a new stylus, and I only recently realised that the cartridge for the 2M red and 2M blue is the same, so the stylus is interchangeable - so after reading the reviews here, decided to risk upgrading to the 2M blue. I'm only a couple of hours in listening, and I'm already happy this was a good move - the 2M blue gives far more detail, especially at the middle and top frequency ranges, and just sounds more complete overall. Sounded good before, but sounds even better now - and I'm sure it will improve further once the stylus beds in. It's a no brainer for me - I'm not going to stretch to the 2M Bronze (as that needs a new cartridge as well). so this exhibits great value for money. You will not be disappointed. Got it same day delivery on Prime too, excellent. By the way - I notice a couple of reviews mention that it appears difficult to get the stylus cover back on - it's not, it's actually really simple - just place the cover on, and push it from the front, rather than the bottom - just push the front until it clicks on, works every time!

Amazingly clear sound
I bought this as a replacement for an Ortofon 2m red that I had won out Immediately this sounded better than the 2m red ever had Voices are really clear and the bass is very natural sounding I’m running it on a project carbon eco into a Cyrus amp. It works well in that system

Noticeable upgrade
Other reviews state that this is a worthwhile upgrade from the 2M Red. What I would like to add is that if it's a few years since you bought your last 2M Blue stylus you are also in for a pleasant surprise. The latest stylus is a better quality than the old one that came with my original 2M cartridge; that looked like a traditional 'conical' shaped stylus, whereas the new ones appear to be a shaped diamond - 'nude elliptical' I believe they are called. This stylus gives more focus to parts of the recording being played, such as tambourines or bass lines for example, sounding noticeably clearer. In fact all instruments (including voices) now sound more 'individual' in the mix as a whole. The reason I've given only four stars is because there are better upgrades available; it depends on how much you want to spend and whether that increase in expenditure (you would also need a new cartridge to upgrade to the bronze or black 2Ms) is worthwhile for how much extra quality you end up with. As a simple inexpensive upgrade however, the 2M Blue is well worthwhile.

Banish Sibilance Distortion With This
So a coupe of months ago I bought a Pro-Ject Debut Pro turntable. I love it and I’ve been very pleased with it. However on some records from my collection, mostly the loud 12” pop singles I have, I was noticing excessive sibilant distortion. Like the really horrible hissy scratchy kind that leaps from the speakers. Also on some records the very high treble just sounded a bit course and spitty. I slowly noticed this over time as I have worked my way through my records with the new turntable. For the most part the original bonded elliptical stylus was doing a great job with most of my collection. Anyway the distortion was bugging me even if it was only on a few records, I got curious and bought the 2M Blue. WOW! This is NOT subtle, this is a revelation! Records that were sounding horribly sibilant before are now smooth and clear. No horrible hissing from vocals, no spitty rough high hats anymore. There is plenty of clarity and detail still but the overall presentation is much more refined. Bass is accurate the soundstage is open and precise. This is money very well spent. Considering I have kept the Pick It Pro cartridge installed and just swapped out the stylus body I am completely amazed.

Nearly Returned It!
Yes, I found Tell-tale folds/creases in the box lid. I thought: hello, someone's had this open! Also I had difficulty viewing the diamond attached to it. However, I used my digital microscope to verify that the diamond was there and the surrounding area was clean so I thought it safe to assume that it was new and not previously used. I purchased the Ortofon Blue as I was already using the Ortofon Red in my Technics turntable and they are interchangeable with the same cartridge. I'd also heard good reviews that it was worth the upgrade. Yes, It is slightly better, it is very good at picking out details however small. Saying that, I would suggest using it for mainly new or undamaged vinyl's because it also picks out all the floors, crackles and dirt etc.! I have kept my Ortofon Red handy as that is a good all rounder and suitable for my old sixties (mostly second hand) vinyl's.
